I didn't realise Cov were still unbeaten - they were really poor. Their midfield tried to compete with CB and Gorrin initially, but just couldn't match them. People will rightly complain about the missed chances and the sloppy goals conceded on the counter, but I'm pleased we're in a position where we are creating those chances. If I were a Cov fan, I'd be worried. They created next to nothing.
Henry brilliant, although faded in patches. He looked absolutely spent by the end. The deserved MOTM for me. Fosu changed the game when he came on, a really impressive cameo. Dickie has come on such a long way, he's turning into a brilliant central defender. That nutmeg in the first half is one of my moments of the season already! Although he did overdo it a couple of times, his bringing the ball out from the back gave us another dimension and they couldn't live with it. I was impressed with Cadden, too, who I hadn't seen yet and I thought was a really good outlet. I was worried about Mackie for a bit there - I know he always plays aggressively and loves getting in people's faces, but I thought he had properly lost his head today. Anyone know what his beef with their #6 was about midway through the second half?
I thought the officials, contrary to what I'm sure will be popular perception, had decent games. Reasonably consistent, and stopped tempers from bubbling over when it threatened to get a bit overheated. Good to see. People will point to the lineman giving them the throw that led to their third, but, regardless of whether it was or wasn't the correct decision, the goal ultimately came from us switching off.
A really entertaining game, with both teams trying to play football the right way imo. I also thought the Cov fans were excellent, easily some of the best support I've seen at the Kassam for a good long while. I'm really perplexed by 'Twist and Shout' becoming a terrace song though, it comes across as really camp! Was also a big fan of Coventry's kit, very clean.
