I hope that if the Taylor deal was to fall through there is a good Plan B.
We desperately need another striker at the club asap.
As Mackie was (rightly) rested last night we fielded no striker in the 18 man squad.

Surely a key lesson for fans this summer has been that patience is key. If we want better players, sometimes a bit more time and effort is required, alongside having contingencies in place.
 
I'm not sure why all the fuss with Taylor, he turned his back on us previously and by all accounts his wage demands are above our limit which given he is with a championship club cannot come as a surprise surely? As for some photo suddenly making the other club play hard ball then just walk away we're not that desperate surely?

so we seek to protect our "image" where did that get us when the whyte deal was done in 3 days but we must have our trousers pulled down and things drag on when we are the purchaser.

According to that most reliable of sources (Wikipedia) they have 12 players out on loan

Although we at least do have another 1st team striker albeit not match fit.

Did we have our trousers pulled down when getting Elliott Moore? How about Ben Woodburn? Alex Gorrin Rodriguez? Did things drag on with Tariqe Fosu? Anthony Forde?

It's easy to throw emotive statements out, but they look pretty stupid when the facts show otherwise.
 
Herbie Kane is available for Loan. Did really well at Donny last year and being chased by Portsmouth etc.

On the whole, Oxford have conducted themselves in exactly the right way throughout this transfer window and other clubs respect that. I'm not sure that anyone will be pleased that this photo was taken and published. It has left Bristol City pissed off, and that could delay or scupper a deal. Not an ideal situation at all to be honest.

Were the other targets spotted in conversation with Robinson ?

Sorry but a football manager having a conversation with a much sought after striker - possible filling a position that has been a millstone around our neck for 18 months - in the tunnel in full glare of the media is absolutely newsworthy.

The Oxford Mail were 100% within their rights to report this. They wouldn’t be doing their job if they didn’t jump all over it. The whole idea of news/media outlets is to report stuff that we, the general public, are not privy to.
