Transfer News Ched Evans

Jesus Christ. It’s gone from a proper is he / isn’t he in terms of whether or not Ched Evans is a dickhead and should be welcomed to a football club with open arms, completely hypothetically, to people telling others they’re a crap / weak parent. That’s just where we’re at now, isn’t it. If someone disagrees with you just attack or insult them until they shut up or decide you’re right.

My god we need something, ANYTHING to happen in the transfer market. It’s gone bananas in here.

You seem confused about the witnesses - they confirmed that what he originally described as her consenting sexual behaviour (before speaking to these witnesses) was consistent with how she had acted with others in similar, consenting situations.

There isn’t any video evidence that she didn’t consent - even she didn’t claim that she didn’t consent. Strange that you are, now, with no reason to that you have put forward?

I haven’t mentioned her past. No-one is saying she deserved any of this. But you still haven’t said what evidence you’ve seen makes you think he’s guilty - or even on what basis of law you think he is - and moral compasses have nothing to do with this. I’m not disputing he’s not a disgusting human being, but that’s not a ‘serious crime’ as you put it
So you don’t think the witnesses, who only came forward once it was known there was a reward for supporting the defence, couldn’t have been swayed by the fact they would be paid a large sum of money?

The case was brought on the basis she alleged she didn’t consent, that is what defines rape.

The facts are he was found guilty and then it was quashed. He won the retrial after his defence paid witnesses. Why didn’t they come forward before there was a reward available?

Personally I wouldn’t let the guy anywhere near my family. That’s why my moral compass matters.

Nonsense.

I’d never want my 10 year old knowing about certain stuff. It’s not for their ears, they don’t have to know and really what is to be gained by telling a 10 year old about rape ? Their time will come. A strong in control parent will deal with it in a simple and straightforward way without going into any detail.

Tail wagging the dog with you by the sound of it.
I wouldn’t tell a 10 year old about sadistic crimes either but they will find out one way or another unfortunately, there are some parents who don’t give a damn about their children if they get in trouble or want to fight maybe smoke and generally rebel and yes there are 10 year olds even going as young as 7/8 and when they get in to there early teens they’re a nightmare, and by the time they are 13 a high percentage will no about sex and and the rights and wrongs. Tragic as it is there are some 13 year olds who won’t give a damn about the rights and wrongs and unfortunately this can lead to rape, then there parents will cry and say they’re only 13 and didn’t know what they were doing or it was the victims fault. If the kids had asked and were told how bad it is and the wrongs of it all.
But like you I agree 10 year olds shouldn’t know about certain things but it’s the inquisitiveness of all young children that will eventually lead them to knowing.

and one of the most watched (and most execrable) programmes on tv is Love Island where people are encouraged to shag for the sake of it
Personally I wouldn’t watch that mind numbing crap, but I’m fairly sure they’ve not had an episode where both parties didn’t consent? Shagging isn’t illegal you know.

You're wrong - I suggest that you do what you originally said and read the details of the case. She absolutely did not allege that she didn't consent. She woke up with no memory of what happened. No offence, but the opinion of someone who doesn't even know the basic details of the case doesn't hold much weight with me, moral compass or not.
