Away Match Day Thread +++6/04/2019 Walsall v OUFC match day thread+++

Browne should have been told to sit on the team bus by himself in the second half, what a petulant selfish display .

We really put the graft in today; that was one hell of a performance in the second half; we look fit, well drilled and extremely hard to beat.

Man of the match: Long. Beginning to contribute going forward.

Walsall were rubbish. Relegation folder. No wonder Keates got the boot.

Keep as many of the squad as we can next season - reckon we can have a tilt at promotion.

Fans top notch as always - apart from that argy bargy after Garbutt goal. Anyone thinking of going on pitch in West Midlands area these days needs to examine his head for brain cells. Stewards did well.

Always enjoy the summaries Timothy. Two questions:

1. Old school management there. Not ideal for team spirit?

2. I heard he hadn’t gone one the pitch deliberately. I’ve heard of cases of fans at the front being “swamped from behind” onto the pitch. From your outlook it sounds like this wasn’t the case ?

Browne’s actions could have easily cost us the points. He spends most of his games either sat on his a**e or arguing with opponents and officials. He’s easy to wind up and he thus gets targeted.

The lad has talent but has disappointed hugely after Christmas.

As for the pitch side bundle maybe on reflection he could have been pushed on, there were a lot of what you youngsters call ‘limbs’ in evidence

In view of the current climate though the stewards aren’t likely to do VAR on the incident and give anyone the benefit of the doubt.

Just a point on the possible heaviest handed stewards we will face.

It was clear in the ruin up to kick off that in the central aisle there were people standing in a non seating area. The stewards stood at the bottom for 10 minutes before kick off and just watched. As soon as the game kicked off that was their queue to charge up the steps and move people. This could have been done so much earlier.

I also really have no idea why clubs try to enforce allocated seating, you do not get to choose your seat and lucky for me I was in the back row directly behind the goal but there were a large number of older fans who clearly wanted to sit and were unhappy to be central and 2/3 rows from the back. They were in seats they did not want to be in and these were seats that a lot of fans DID want to be in. Surely its more safe to allow people to sit where they want.

My son as a non season ticket holder bought his ticket later than me (he had no choice) meaning we could not sit together as we have no choice to get seats together. It just feels a flawed approach which can only lead to unrest.......................problem is I had a feeling today that this was something the blue jacketed response team were happy to see. There were problems at their last home game as well

Watch the goal recording, I think I agree that while you could argue he should not go to the areas in front of the seats I am not sure it was a deliberate attempt to get on the pitch

That Andy Cook was a proper bell end - players rightly complain about the risk of prats running on the pitch and at players and then he is allowed to deliberately goad our fans right in front of us without any sanction against him - proper tool

I did call him a w****r but it couldn’t be heard above all the insults. Should have been booked

We experienced exactly the same issues last season. There is no logical reason to the behaviour of stewards or clubs in enforcing this nonsense and it is high time that it was stopped.
Coventry, at the Ricoh, had a completely different approach. Friendly stewards who greeted everyone with "sit where you like" - result, everyone happy and no issues.

Thanks Tim. From reports on here the lad Browne does appear to have underperformed after the early rave reviews. A classic example of young player believing their own hype?

Large slice of humble pie eaten by me. Though to be fair did anyone genuinely see this run coming? We were SO bad at times this season.

Genuine credit to the team and Robbo, recent form is exceptional.

I am still bloody nervous whats round the corner with our "enigmatic" owner- i cant escape the thought of admin somewhere down the line.

But on the pitch. Amazing.
Need to sit down cant believe what I'm reading.

I would like to join in with mr Kip and say

Fooooking yesss!!!

There’s so much to be proud about this club. The team, coaching staff and fans have all fronted up when needed. The only weak link is the owner(s) Hang your head in shame Tiger, you don’t deserve this club.

How about you fund the club out of your back pocket? This stuff astonishes me, it really does.

We paid cash on the turnstile, we weren’t given tickets at all so when we went in the steward said it’s unallocated seating so go to blocks 11 & 12 and sit where you like. We did that but people were coming in with seat tickets for the same area! Not sure how they thought that would work....
