The thing is, no one knows. For example, who would have thought Liverpool would lose to Crystal Palace and Arsenal would lose to Villa, and both at home. Sometimes it’s just about what happens on the day e.g. not many realistically thought we’d beat Peterborough 5-0!

Which is what we should have done Saturday, especially when we were 4-0 up after 58mins!! Yeah, when Browne came on at Shrewsbury away. I’d try him in behind Harris to see how that went e.g. in place of Rodrigues if he’s not on his game!

Lincoln stopped us on both flanks e.g. did the day with Dale and Browne when he came on, so not just Murphy. Also, wasn’t so much the crosses as they were going to win them 99% of the time (more physical/talker etc), hence getting into better positions within their box pulling it back on the...

It gives Murphy the chance to go inside e.g. Leigh takes one or more of the opposition players with him, then we’re not one dimensional e.g. Murphy just going on the outside. Murphy & Dale were just running up dark allies in the end with 2 or 3 of their players crowding them out, thus amounting...

I think it was perfectly fine to start with the same team, but when certain players are clearly not on their game e.g. Rodrigues, you need to make changes quicker. How Rodrigues stayed on the pitch as long as he did (87th minute) was beyond me. I would have hoicked him off (oh err misses!) a lot...

The fullbacks need to overlap the wingers (Murphy & Dale) to break the lines (when teams put 2 to 3 banks of players), thus, either creating space for our wingers or enabling them to pass to the over-lapping fullback. This would also create space inside to play through the middle, but the likes...

Ref Watch 16/4/24 Oxford United v Lincoln City - Lee Swabey

On the way out of the ground I saw a couple of Lincoln fans and I said that they (Lincoln) are one of the most horrible, thuggish team wasting teams I’ve seen this season and how do this watch that rubbish. The reply was, it was 10 v 12 insinuating that the referee was on our side!! I said you...

Just got to beat Stevenage Friday and hope that Blackpool and Barnsley draw, and Cheltenham beat Lincoln!! This would guarantee us a play off place, with us in 5th on goal difference over Barnsley both on 76 points each, leaving Lincoln and Blackpool on 71 points with one game to go! Now...

They didn’t allow us to press them like we did Saturday e.g. leading to our first 2 goals. Lincoln just went route one and put 3 banks of players in front of us, so basically allowing us to have the ball, but also saying you’ve got to get past us. And if we did they just fouled us!! We needed...

Totally agree, but his first touch doesn’t help, seems to get the ball stuck under himself too often so needs another touch or two to then be in a position to pass and by that time he’s closed down. Did do a great run in the first half which led to the Goodrham chance. Just wish he’d do more if...

As good as he was Saturday, Rodrigues was very poor tonight, so was surprised he stayed on the pitch as long as he did! I would have taken him (Rodrigues) off for Brannagan, leaving McEachran on if he was capable of staying on.

I think they’ll batter Cheltenham through brute force! but hope you’re right

Lincoln are a team full of thugs and play route one football. Some may say they came and did a job on us, but I felt the referee needed to manage that game a lot better than that. How he didn’t give a free kick for the foul on Brannagan is beyond me, and to only add on 6mins when there were...

    Current Player #23 Josh Murphy

And of course the win at Wembley!

I think he’s probably better at moving the ball quicker and offers more pace, but not sure if he’s as good as Moore defensively, in terms that Moore seems to cut that cross out with either his head or feet ensuring the ball goes for a throw in etc, so can then re-group. So I guess they both have...
