To be fair, I don't think I or anybody else is judging you on your 'support'. What many people do point out on here is your cluelessness, ignorance and rather bizarre, vehement self-assuredness. You make Nostradamus look like a top tipster. Take a breather, learn a little about the sport and...

Not sure that's right... from memory a broad swathe of the fanbase were sounding the alarm last summer, for all sorts of reasons. It was only a small cadre of True Believers who kept on marching blindly into the machine gun fire, oblivious to the warning signs. And the warning signs included...

Manager/Coach KREXIT: The 'Robbo Out' thread.

Ha ha, no I haven't you cheeky sod. I had us down as lower midtable and think I still do. Going down would be an unmitigated disaster for the club and would jeopardise everything, including the move to WE which Scotchers and Co fought so long and hard against, such is their devotion to lower...

Manager/Coach KREXIT: The 'Robbo Out' thread.

That's true, I think. For various reasons (not least the incessant talking about himself) the whole club seems to have become a psychodrama with only one lead actor. That's not healthy. I agreed with Malcolm a couple of weeks ago that it was rational - if not popular - for the club to take its...

Manager/Coach KREXIT: The 'Robbo Out' thread.

I think its perfectly coherent to say that KR should stay whilst a DoF is a) recruited (at least 1 month) and b) gets his feet under the table (couple of weeks). And if, during that month and a half, the team performs to 'par' (ie circa 1.8 points per match over a ) then it's not mad to think...

They only had money because they sold Ivan Toney! You would hope that if we sold a player for 6 million that there would be 1 million left spare for a replacement!! Posh have always been a trading club - none of their owners have any money to throw in.

    General The Role of OxVox

First of all, really good news to have clarity over the ownership and direction of the club. There has been palpable drift over the last year or so as the negotiations as to who would be the controlling shareholder have clearly taken longer than expected. But now the clouds have parted, and we...

Manager/Coach KREXIT: The 'Robbo Out' thread.

I think we are violently agreeing. SteMerritt was just pointing out (with me seconding) that it would have been far from obvious back in Feb, when we were still in the top 7, that a change of manager was either obvious or likely. Since then, we have demonstrated relegation form over a near 30...

Manager/Coach KREXIT: The 'Robbo Out' thread.

That is spot on. To work out the meaning of sub-par, one has to first define 'par' . For the last few years, 'par' for a club of OUFC's type has been mid-table L1. By type, I mean middling crowds, a bit of owner support and a decent, stable recruitment team. There are clubs of similar type...

    Fan's View Fan's View 22/23 - No.12 - MK Dons at home

It has been mentioned in passing but not emphasized enough that the fixtures have been exceptionally kind to us. We could improve, performance-wise, and still not get any more points per game from the next 10. The club really needs to wake up and understand that we are in a relegation fight...

Manager/Coach Robinsons future - Change of view?

In fact, quick tot up. 2022 has (in unlikely event my maths is right) brought 43 pts from 32 matches. The next 12 matches brings games against Pompey, Ipswich, -Sheff Weds, Posh, Charlton. On current form I dont think its over-pessimistic to fear that we might end up at not a lot more than 50...

Manager/Coach Robinsons future - Change of view?

Port Vale's wages budget circa 2.8 million, I believe - OUFC at 4.5 million. Almost all the bottom half teams have budgets of 3 million or less. Cambridge are at not much more than 2 million. Whatever the 'reaaons', there is no doubt that current squad performance level is one of the biggest...

Manager/Coach Robinsons future - Change of view?

The issue is: you would love to see him.deliver a clear analysis of what is wrong, take some personal responsibility for mistakes he has made and offer a determined commitment to improve. Instead, it's just a weekly burble about injuries. And a burble that doesnt really even stand up if you do...

It really warms my heart to.read good old Scotchers railing against the 'naivety and downright lies' of those who oppose OUFC moving to the Water Eaton neighborhood. Better the sinner that repenteth and all that!

It's actually really encouraging to see that the opposition is small and loony-sounding. There was never going to be zero opposition, but a large, focussed, well-funded group could have spelled trouble. I spoke to a local politician the other day who fully expected it to go through this year.
