I don't see the point in loaning in another young striker. We've just signed Perkins and O'Donkor is coming along nicely. If we're going to sign another striker, it surely has to be an experienced one or we may as well stick with what we have 🤷♂️
Have we actually even been linked with Tayo Edun?
Maybe I've missed something, but it seems the suggestion that he'd be a good signing has quickly turned into 'he's at the training ground, done deal'??
I doubt we'll be looking at any more centre-backs as we don't want the pathway for the likes of Negru and Golding - who could both develop into fine players - to be obscured by bit-part/back-up players who are coming just to make up the numbers.
I'd personally be quite surprised if we just sign two of three more players, especially if Goodrham is sold or we manage to move on the likes of Seddon and Wildschut.
I would imagine there is hesitancy considering his injury record. Undoubtedly a very good player, but we got burned bad last season and will be keen to avoid similar mistakes.
Good strikers are hard to come by and we're not going to overpay or jump at the first one that comes along and also willing to look in places that others aren't for a hidden gem using Ed Waldron's knowledge/contacts in France.
That's all I got from the Manning quotes and nothing at all I...
I'm really hoping we might get Oko-Flex. I think that would be a really interesting signing. Might be out of our reach - I heard he was on trial at Sunderland - but hopefully the Manning connection from his time as WHU U21 manager might help.
And then, after trying to replace him with Sean Clare, Long went and had a superb season in the following campaign where we got to the play-offs again.
Josh Ruffels is disrespected by some of our fans, certainly was when he left anyway...remember Steve Seddon being a huge upgrade?
I'd personally be happy to have him back, but I'm not sure he'd fit the criteria that Manning would be looking for in a new left-back.
