Home Match Day Thread 28/11/2023 L1: OUFC v Bolton Wanderers

Very tactical game I thought. Lots of good possession (more so Bolton) and they looked dangerous at times. We had some good attempts on goal and I'm quite happy with the result

What Have You Been Watching Lately? (No Spoilers)

Just watched dope sick on Disney plus. Based on a true story of a major pharmaceutical company and their production of a pain killer that was more addictive than they advertised. Michael Keaton plays the lead. Highly recommend.

If true, and it's looking evermore likely, I am gutted. Objectively, he's perfectly entitled to to take a good offer to further his career and I can't think of any reason why he should reject it. At a more subjective level, I would feel very let down by a person whose words and actions don't...

What Have You Been Watching Lately? (No Spoilers)

I would broadly agree but I think what it demonstrated was how the collusion of the BBC and others was so instrumental in his crimes. I may not have appreciated that part previously.

What Have You Been Watching Lately? (No Spoilers)

I watched The Reckoning with Steve Coogan about Jimmy Saville. It was brilliantly done, but I found it incredibly hard and it took me a while to recover. As a docu-drama, it had been meticulously researched and the portrayal of Saville was chillingly realistic. Anyone else watch it ?

General New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Land Deal

If Victoria Campbell is the woman who was advocating that 'Oxford fans clearly don't care about having a new stadium', based upon the numbers who responded to the consultation, and the geography they reside in, I have to say that I haven't heard such a load of bile ridden subjective crap for a...

General New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Land Deal

My reading is that there is more than a hint of optimism to take from this. To me, this is a 'going through the process' exercise, in which you expect to see a series of twists and turns, but I think that the general travel is forwards. Resistance to change is inevitable, but a reasoned and...

Transfer News Summer Transfer Window 23/24 Build up

Frankly, I'm working on the 'no news is good news principle'. I think we could all do without the vaguaries of the previous incumbent and the paper thin worth they had, Manning strikes me as someone who will say something when there is something to say.

Offensive and threatening!? Sounds like a good choice.

General What's Happened to Leon Blackmore Such?

So much speculation and conjecture, but does it really make any significant difference to anything? I don't have an opinion either way about LBS, and I don't really care all that much. This forum has become very divided and polarised at times. If we are the OUFC family, we have become very...

General New Stadium Plans - The Triangle - Land Deal

I listened to the woman who organised the poll and she was stating what a success it was, and how representative it was of local opinion. Her supporting evidence was a little thin to say the least, I am inclined to put my faith in those who know this kind of enterprise and have a good deal of...

One of the symptoms of PTSD is the replaying of previous traumatic events in a repetitive way. Sufferers are regrettably stuck in the past whilst others have moved on. It's a horrible fixation, and you clearly haven't recovered yet.
