I was just thinking the same thing. Football fans are, generally speaking, passionate about their club and understandably a lot of us desperately want the stadium to go ahead so that there is still a club for us and future generations to support.
Why do the likes of Steve Hill actually care so...
I emailed Liz earlier regarding Cllr Grant and Levy's impartiality. Not sure it will make a shred of difference but it was quite cathartic so get some of the frustration out!!
Good afternoon Liz,
I am writing to you to express my absolute dismay at the actions of Cllrs Grant and Levy in...
Said the same before the match, fully expecting it to be decent for 15 mins and then fall away again. But today it was genuinely good for most of the match, and I think it's worth acknowledging as much.
Also, I'm usually not a fan of the whole 'weren't the fans great today' patting each other on the back stuff, but the atmosphere genuinely was so, so much better today and it added to the enjoyment of the afternoon. In fact I cannot remember the last time I felt as invested in a game.
Well...
That's the best all round performance I've seen since we beat West Ham in the cup. Every single player worked incredibly hard and did well on the ball. Murphy and McEachran were 10/10s and everyone else was 9.5.
I have to admit I really wasn't sure it would ever click under Des, but it does...
It's part of the reason councils take so long to repair potholes, or to use the updated term, 'miniature wetland ecosystems'. They can't just go filling in such wildlife havens without conducting thorough wildlife surveys beforehand.
17 goals (so far) is a great return in his first full season as first choice striker. I think he's been a great signing and a marked improvement on Joseph. If he can become less 'streaky' and stop the long goal droughts there's no reason he can't be a 20+ goal a season striker at this level.
Great result and two consecutive 4-0 wins at this stage of the season is great timing.
Next Saturday vs Peterborough is absolutely HUGE and has to be a sellout.
Question for those using Murphy's recent form to justify giving him a new contract: does it not concern you that he's only found real form in the last 6 months of his contract?
The situation is reminding me of Asa Hall. He always seemed to go on a crazy goal scoring run towards the end of his...
They had a chance in the second half when one of their players cut in from the left and managed to miss the target completely unchallenged from about 8 yards out.
I hate to inject any negativity into this thread, but it has to be said that Fleetwood were laughably bad - literally laughable. They must've passed it directly out of play at least ten times, and their finishing was truly woeful. A decent team would've scored at least twice against us today...
The club aren't directly funding it (at least not all of it).
By the time a spade is in the ground the club is going to have debts of >£30m.
We don't know what the funding structure is going to look like, but in the event of cost increases/funding withdrawals etc. the club is not going to be...
The anti-stadium argument will be that there is a risk of the club running out of funds and the stadium being left half-built, which, to be fair, is a reasonable concern.
I continue to find the idea of objecting to a £150m investment in your local area on the grounds that you may want to go to Sainsbury's at 3pm on a Saturday every so often and don't want to have to take a slightly longer route quite hilarious.
Maybe I'm being naïve, but I just cannot see the...
