Long was out of position too much and we ended up with huge amounts of space to exploit. Stevens there closes those holes and Long plays well in his (natural?) position. With Long at RB and Cam Bran in there instead of JM you lose some of the shape and create too much space. IMO
I don’t think it was an “awful” OUFC performance, we’ve seen some awful ones don’t get me wrong.
First half we played ok, they played deep and, to be honest, 0-0 at half time suited us with them having to push forward second half. The penalty destroyed any HT discussion or plans. I suspect as...
Not sure if it’s definitely the same person but he used to be a regular poster under the pseudonym ‘John Lennon’. He worked (I think?) for the club during the Eales era too. A long time ago he worked on the ‘Bring The Noise’ campaign coined by LoveandPride. It was around the time we tried moving...
Depends on the size but for some context the old ‘Keep The Faith’ banner that we made years ago based on an old poster (Loveandpride) design took about a day all in.
The (very) big surfer for the original Sw@ndon game which we also used at the start of the season against Portsmouth took much...
Well, this all makes disappointing reading to wake up to here in Mumbai. I’ll not comment on the game as I wasn’t there, however, having watched Mumbai City FC beat Northeast United 4-1 last night in the ISL, it doesn’t surprise me we are where we are.
The quality of football is perhaps some of...
At times it was better and decisive, certainly better than the first half performance against Wigan, same against Bristol etc.
Unfortunately though, Long is no where near good enough. If Buckingham doesn’t know it, Dale is certainly making it known. He’s balled (quite rightly) Long out tonight...
The good news, one silver lining. At least the board didn’t decide to experiment with Buckingham at the end of last season or we’d be playing a different derby.
Buckingham is just a poor man’s Gary Waddock.
The only real glimmer for me is the continued successes of Burey on the wing and what looks like a decent player in Dale.
Just seen the Brannegan interview, he looks thoroughly pissed off. Can’t say I blame him.
I hate to say it but I think the...
Interesting to see how he goes. Either sour grapes on the Ready To Go thread about him or many not particularly complimentary.
Not that a fans forum is the place to judge players given the views on here (respectfully).
Sat there watching that with 6k fans was like turning back the clock to some of the Wilder years.
Watching Long and Stevens giving acres of space to Kane and Cadden at times was akin to some of those days as well.
Minor gripe.. why do the ball boys not wear OUFC kit? It’s not a lot to ask to...
Not the easiest conditions for a keeper, particularly at our ground where the wind and rain swirls. I thought the same but put it down to the conditions for this one.
Perhaps I’m being overly critical but that was two s**t teams playing s**t football for huge swathes of the game today.
We were unlucky not to get a goal on a couple of occasions but I really don’t think that was much of a performance. We’re devoid of any kind of idea going forward, we tried...
As I said on a previous thread it’s been a while and I’m getting up to speed. I enjoyed Wycombe away that a trip to the K@ss%m tonight was never in any doubt!
A few random thoughts:
- I actually thought Barnsley looked pretty good, some decent distribution and some nice balls from wide fired...
Evening,
Have had a few years out and only really dipped in here now and then but for some strange reason have found the bug again.
Coming from a relatively level perspective I think the following has shown in the 8-10 games I’ve seen this season and was evident today (I’m easing back slowly)...
