The thing is, if we’d got a better result against either Lincoln or Stevenage we wouldn’t be dependent on other results.

They’ll have that covered. If the EFL team doesn’t win in 90 minutes then the EPL team will go through by default. If they could swing it, they would want all EPL teams to join in the 4th round, except for the four who have Champions League commitments who go straight to the semi-finals.

Exactly this. You can mess around with the rules as much as you like, but it’s a waste of time (pun intended) if the officials decide, for whatever reason, not to enforce them.

Similar to the law that says that the ‘keeper can only hold the ball for 5-6 seconds? As I said earlier, I would settle for the officials applying the existing laws consistently. What happened to the law that said that an injured player doesn’t need to go off if the foul resulted in a yellow...
