Fan's View - Peterborough away

Great read as always Paul :) .
It's nice to have a goal scorer, even if a midfielder... (imagine if we DO manage to purchase a goal scoring striker in Jan oooOOOOooo exiting times!)

Thanks Paul.
I totally agree with you re Browne and I would add Whyte there as well.
Both exciting quality players who are great to watch when on their game and make the most of them whilst they are here.

At least Whyte is ours so should be here for longer. Or if he isn't then we should get a good transfer fee.
I nearly made a comment about Whyte's contribution being good but overshadowed by Browne's.

I think Evans's sides often play decent football, actually. I think Evans was in charge when Rotherham tore us apart at home in the Wilder era - Rotherham were very good indeed. That is not to excuse the cheating, whining and generally absurd public posturing of the man...

Thanks Paul, I gathered from Radox that we were really good on the day and deserved at least a point so, your report sounds a little more reserved. I am hoping that it is just you holding back a tad!

I thought Peterborough were the better team over all (not surprising when you look at the league positions perhaps). They moved the ball quicker than we did and they should really have scored when they had that virtually open goal to shoot at. Anyone who says they could tell whether our disallowed goal should have been allowed from where we were sitting must be able to see round corners! However, that said, we were the better team for the last part of the first half, short periods in the second and showed commendable grit and determination to get a point.

I would like to sympathise with Peterborough for their prolonged period of 'mascot-itis'. A bloke in top hat and tails, a woman in in top hat and tails, a Bob the Builder, another Bob the Builder, a rabbit (called Peter Burrow!) with a carrot and a grey letter A with a green cap. Come on guys, Rentakill aren't that expensive!

Oh, he’s certainly one hell of a good manager, just seems to be a terrible person

Thanks Paul. I think the team looks much better balanced now than earlier in the season. Arguably this was our most difficult match since Charlton and we managed to hold our own as opposed to having to mount a major rearguard action. Interesting that we have continued to play well for the past 5 games without Ricky Holmes. Whilst I would be delighted to have him back in the squad as we currently don’t have any “gamechangers” on the bench I feel the current first 11 are our best team.

I was thinking the very same about Holmes. But we will have injuries and suspensions so need him to be available.
Also with regard to getting in a striker or strikers - and I don't think anyone would argue with that. But to put one in you have to take someone out of that "best" starting XI and that can upset the balance we now seem to have. An interesting dilemma for Karl.

There's an amusing Peterborough fans report that describes the Evans/Raynor/Robinson/Derry combo as 'one of the most angry touchlines in the history of football'.
