General Ivo Pekalski

It’s all gone a bit quiet about Pekalski, is he back training with us? Has robbo decided he’s not good enough even with a light squad ?
I believe that I read that he was given some time off after his season and was due to come back today?
I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to fix himself up elsewhere

With Henry a doubt for Saturday could he be his replacement? I believe he returned from loan and started training this week.

Judging by KR's public comments on him, I highly doubt it...

Pekalski, the O2 of holding midfielders, you know we pay him but you never see him.

Destined never to play for us, probably the the defining signing of the brief Clotet era.

He has played for us. I think I saw both of those occasions. Didn’t seem that bad to me. Not James Henry maybe. He just got injured.

He has never played for the first team has he, or in a competitive game? The stuff you actually pay them to play in.

Whether he has looked ok in two friendly appearances is a bit beside the point, we paid £50k and decent wages for a player 99% of our fan base have never seen, he has only been injured for half of that at most, value for money one of our worst ever signings.

He played just over half a game in last seasons Oxford senior cup match ( v 'City at CPF)

I understand he has been training with the squad this week.

If you are going to say that every time someone on here refers to the club as 'we' then you are going to be a busy chap! :)

I have no issue with that - it's just a stretch to say fans pay the player's wages when most clubs run on a loss. It's coming out of the owner's pocket.

You would be hard pressed to find any fan of any football club they support not referring to the club as 'we' most of the time! In that regard it as an odd thing, in my view, to pick someone up on.

That's NOT what I'm taking issue with! I do that all the time. Unless we are all Tiger (which we're not), then WE don't pay his wages. It's pretty simple comprehension.

The only simple thing to comprehend is that when he/she is using we, they are referring to the club as in the one we support. It is a normal thing to say in the context of talking about your club, in this case pointing out we (the club) pay his wages. I am pretty sure 99.9 percent of posters including you understand that.
