'We are not a charity' - Kassam

Having read the article, I am confused. If by a miracle (not going to happe) FK did sell the stadium to OCC at a reduced price in return for planning consent to develop the overflow car park, where are the supporters going to car on match day?
you really shouldve made the effort to have attended the Oxvox meeting CC .... this was 'covered' at length.... as the official minutes will reveal when they are issued

Name anyone, chairmen, councils, fans that have ever come out on top doing that against him. The last time fans stormed the boardroom and forced him to do something, we ended up with the very s**t lease we’re now trying to get away from
cant remember the fellas name, but didnt a farmer well and truly get the better of OGB at the time he was acquirring the land in and around what is now the bowlplex , breeze block etc ? ....it isnt impossible, our landlord is a tax exile not an untouchable :)

IHMO FK is the Devil. I cant see him ever giving up his hold on the Stadium until it suits him. He has the football club in a hole, unless,

I am only responding to what has been published in the OM. I will make every effort to attend the next meeting, if it is convenient.

My position has always been the same. The stadium will not be sold to anybody until I am happy it is in the interests of Oxford United Football Club long term.

I agree with kassam - He is kindly charging us minimum rent on a fancy new stadium that is kept nice and clean. Another owner would not be in the interests of his beloved football club........

NEVER believe everything you read in the Oxford Mail....or for that matter pretty much any newspaper:rolleyes:

I feel that "Sarge" should lead negotiations.
Nah! I like the Danny Dyer-like machismo of 'Borntobeyellow'. He'd beat Kassam up good and proper. We'd still be no nearer a solution to the problem, but he'd be able to boast about how hard he is down the pub, and Kassam would know who's boss.

Would it include the phrase. Stop talking liberties me old treacle, it’s doing my nut

I agree. Only to get respect from a bully, is to stand up to him. Now, if that means relocating at the end of the lease, for me, that is the price the football club will have to pay.

How is that bad for Kassam? It's not really about standing up to him is it, he owns something, we pay him rent. We want a better deal in whatever form that takes, as fun as it is being confrontational it serves no purpose when the other person holds all the cards.

Sometimes you just have to be professional, not rise to the bait and get yourself in a better position than the one you are currently in.

I wonder, does this apparent breakdown in talks mean we can start chanting "Kassam, you're a c**t" at games again?

As an aside, I thought the idea was for him to sell the ground and for it to be held in trust for the club/wider community so it would not matter who owned the club itself?

It was Les Wells. He received £1 million for his land which was next to the stadium.

Maybe the planning can and will be refused on the carpark and so it should, the council need to start putting pressure on the scumbag, this WILL have to be resolved one day,I can see us moving to another ground at some point........

Abusing Kassam will get us nowhere as he holds all the cards.

Would you rent somewhere and abuse your landlord having agreed the price you have to pay, knowing you have absolutely nowhere to go?

I was at the Oxvox meeting and Jem is absolutely right ,we have to keep talking and as the club and Kassam are in arbitration, someone has to keep communication going.

From Kassams point of view he is getting a regular income which he can renegotiate in seven years time. Why does he need to sell.

The only way out of this is to find a site with the help of the council which we could move into in around five years time because as I understand it we still have to pay rent for the rest of the term.

Well that was OxVox's idea. Sadly they seem to have forgot to tell Kassam.
Amusing to see typical politico B*****s from Bob Price. 'Oh, whoopsie, after twenty years of doing b****r all I must remember to get this sorted out in the next two weeks. Oh, look at the time, I've got a more important meeting to go to.'
This from the man who could have Kassam over a barrel ref the Priory if he wanted to but has never bothered to stir a finger against the man.
Reality is that for all the posturing, this club needs to find itself a new stadium. So have plenty before us. It hasn't been easy for AFC Wimbledon to climb back up the food chain. Nor was it easy for Brighton to sort themselves out. Nor Charlton. The list goes on. Those who would bind us into another long lease at the wind tunnel need to be gently led away from being anywhere near the scene of the next crime. They are simply Merry 2.0.

Can't think who you remind me of..............

We should make approaches now to prepare for whenour licence ends.

Perhaps a ground share with Swindon for a few years whilst we sort out a new site.
