So those who were vilified had a reason.

Supporters like the Hawk and Myles are being proved right in their suspicions about the new owners and how the club was operating. It’s now time to listen to what they are saying and not to have a pop at them at every opportunity. It’s time for transparency from all sides.

Eales has to carry some blame, but I could Imagine Tiger coming in saying look I've got Singh beer lined up, several billionaire mates keen to get on board etc. would of sounded compelling.

How the flip can you blame DE? He done his bit (service & MOT ) then sold the "second hand car on" and may have made a profit..... that is all a football club is to these folk...

Who is to blame for all this uncertainty?.......Eales?

Take your pick from K*$$*m, Oxford City Council, the Sockless Wonder, Ian Lenagan, Slippery, Robin Herd... Ultimately, the situation the club faces today i.e. being heavily indebted, loss-making, renting a concrete carbuncle of a stadium, is an accumulation of bad decisions and mismanagement over a long period of time.

Worst. Post. Ever.

(apart from maybe this one)

It’s starting to look like the “new” directors have invested very little in money’s terms and are just there to give the impression that the club is on the up. We have a number of Associate Directors who have paid for the privilege of sitting with the directors at each home game, have they any idea of what’s happening, if not why not?

Many supporters have put their trust in Tiger to finance a good transfer budget for the January window and so far the only possibility is a loan player who is again returning from a serious injury. If the club does fall into administration then a 10 points deduction will be made and relegation becomes a reality.

Eales has really stitched the club up and looked after his interests rather than the clubs. The Donald/Satori/Methvan buyout is starting to look more like a great opportunity thrown away by Eales, rather than not in the best interests of Oxford United.

Let’s hope and pray that we are wrong in our fears and that money is available to pay bills etc and available for a couple of good signings in January, don’t hold your breath though.

Can we please stop peddling this B*****s?

Eales came into the club as a venture capitalist. Anyone who is surprised that he sold to the highest bidder is a simpleton.

Chartle et al had the money to buy the club, (ref Sunderland) but didn't. That's fine, if it didn't make sense, for whatever reason, then they were right to not buy it.

But to now hold them up as the wronged party? If they'd beaten Tiger's bid they'd have the club. They didn't.

So please, let's not waste time on fawning and fantasy.

NB: This is not meant to be a negative post re Methven and Donald. I'm sure we all recognise and are very grateful for the time, support and funds they have given the club over the years.

Because he said that he would sell to someone that was good for the club/best interest for the club when that’s clearly not the case.

Well Mr Eales i have very wealthy friends and business men lined up to join me

still not in the best interests of the club?

if said hardly his fault it's not as yet proved to be of any worth

I've got bad news about Father Christmas I'm afraid.
It’s ok to understand why he made the decision he did. And to see HIS rationale for acting in HIS best interests. But that doesn’t mean we should willingly accept it as good for us or the right one for the club just because “it’s business”.

After all, it was Darryl who chose to portray the choice not as one of business, but of an altruistic choice to further the interests of the club. It most certainly feels hard to agree with his sentiments right now and he appears to have left the garden in a rosy position personally.

(Not getting into a debate about the progression of the clunnunder hus tenure, simply the manner and choice of exit where I think we can rightly feel resentful )

Here they go again!!

Don't 'they' me!

I'm not part of any clique and haven't opined on Tiger either way.

You wrote something daft and I called you up on it, no more no less.

You missed the bit where he appears to have reneged on his promise to write off any debt accrued on his watch....

Much truth Ricky, much truth.

I don't however see the point in wasting energy being angry with Darryl when there are more pressing concerns.

And I'm sure you didn't swallow the altruistic line anyway!

I understand why you made this post. The Hawk and Myles were certainly the most vociferous in their doubts about the 'new regime', and many others had doubts.

But it's unnecessary to suggest it's 'now time to listen to what they are saying'. The vast majority of supporters - on here at least - are now extremely doubtful about the board's ability to do anything, let alone pay their bills. And neither are people still having pops at either of the guys, apart from one or two who seem to be on a different planet.

It's rare there is such solidity of opinion on the forum. Let's not introduce a suggestion of divisiveness that no longer exists.

Lesson for me for the future though. IF we survive and get taken over by another 'saviour' they must be met with extreme scepticism from day one. They will have to prove their investment potential and clearly state their planned intentions. Let's never again be fooled.
I think that's all very fair Pete. "I told you so"s never helped anybody. Much better that people just see the reality for what it is and take that forward.

Other than the odd voices, it does appear that the vast majority realise the seriousness of the current situation and that by simply paying the bill now, the problems don't disappear. I'm just glad that, for once, I'm not one of the "odd voices" :)

I tend to agree with this. What's done, is done. That said, those whose connivance or negligence have lead us to the current position should not be absolved of blame.

What we absolutely should do though is make sure we learn the lessons so we are more guarded in future and more challenging when words and actions don't appear to marry up.

But Myles, we have been here before, hence why some of us raised our concerns, but were shot down.

I know it’s about moving forward now, but will we learn this time?
