Thohir

Let's think positively and expand our expectations. We will build a multi purpose sports ground the Stadium will be built to the very best standard, and aesthetically blends into the Oxford City landscape . Oxford will host the Olympics, will be the best concert venue in Europe if not the world. When Britain get to host the world cup, the Oxford Stadium will be one of the first grounds chosen for the finals.

The Hotels, Restaurants and Casiono will bring in more revenue. All this and more wil be approved by our forward thinking City Council and rate payers.
The Council will have a deal signed by the stadium builders that OUFC will be the owners of the ground when built. OUFC will have all revenue from the stadium and advertising revenue related to the stadium. The owners of said hotels, casino, restaurants will get all the revenue, but pay the council rates and maintain all areas around all assets. Being diligent Oxford United Supporters, the Board will write off any debts owed by OUFC and support a playing budget that allows OUFC to maintain a OUFC in the Premier League top 4.

These are all achievable

Please feel free to add more positive expectations to the achievable ones listed above. ???⚽?
Sort out Lounge "coffee and biscuits gate".

Sorry, you said achievable ?

And the rest! Oxford we’re looking for a new ground seriously from about 1970 onwards. I personally remember sites like green road, which was opposed and is now a terrible service station. Being proposed by the club and rejected by the council.
When we did eventually find a spot and the council approved, it turned out there were all kinds of covenants (whatever) that hampered development. The council were so unsupportive that Herd walked away and we were left with Kassam who then proceeds to make millions for himself and finish the ground for as little as he could.
I have absolutely no faith in Kassam selling without it working out very nicely for him. The kind of deal that means he still owns the space in the corners and he builds four skyscrapers in them and rents them back to the council to house homeless people and immigrants!
I also have no faith in the council to actually support OUFC for once and find us a new site to build on

To be fair to the Council, they did offer HUFC a site at Horspath Driftway in the 50s but the club turned it down.

Whatever happens, we’ll still own f**k all and these guys will have used the club/fans as a lever to get what they want in terms of development, by saying they need this to generate much needed funds to keep the club running as it cannot sustain itself on a game once a fortnight, but we know we’ll never see this money because they’ve had to borrow it to do the development in the first place. Then they’ll run the club on a shoestring selling it’s best assets along the way until we drop back down the leagues, for them to be hounded out of the club, but all along they got what they wanted! Sound familiar??
Selling a few players off year by year or getting to the premier league and make absolute millions year after year, which one do you think they would be more interested in?

Leading on from this, I wonder what’ll happen if and when there is a European league breakaway. Let’s face it, it’s probably a matter of when rather then if. I would imagine there would be some form of restructuring of the leagues (which will probably include the likes of Celtic and Rangers coming in..) It could well leave us ‘promoted’ to the second tier if we get our act in gear now. Even with the so called super powers leaving for the mega millions of elite European football there will still be large amounts of money swashing about in the domestic leagues. Things could get interesting but we need to be in the right place at the right time.

Interesting possibilities for sure, and yes, I think Euro Super League is only a matter of time too @yellowbow
IF the likes of Celtic & Rangers are invited to any restructuring after Euro Superleague is introduced, give 'em
a season or two in the new UK top flight, then theyll be plying their trade in the new second tier I reckon :sneaky:

Swapping places with us obviously..

Wouldn't you need to have some assets to sell first? At least the way up while we are creating said assets will be fun before the plummet back down. If it happens.

We didn’t when we were at the Manor, but Kassam managed it!

Interesting aside on the Indonesian connection. On Saturday two Indonesian chaps were sat next to me. They were keen football fans, said football has a huge following in Indonesia but not great clubs. So they were visiting the UK taking in a few matches. They specifically chose to come to watch us because of the links to Thohir and their friends back home are really interested in us because of this. Is Grenoble Rd becoming an international tourist attraction? This is a small example of what Tiger and Thohir might open up for us, and what Tiger means when he talks about the Oxford brand.

Was one of them wearing flip flops?

"Fans are entitled to know the strategy and the ‘why’ so they can share their opinions."

Absolutely nails it.

We are not entitled to know anything we would like to but entitled no. myles we are just pawns in this game.

Posted this on another thread, but the single match income for Accrington vs Barnsley:

The Accrington chairman goes on to say...

Wow. Transparency with the fans - what a breath of fresh air! Kudos to Andy Holt and the Stanley.

There's also a lad helping to run a club somewhere in the NE who's also been very open and honest with the club finances here

Bottom line: engage with the fanbase as partners or investors to the club (they may not own equity but they invest serious money, time and emotion) rather than throwing out a few meaningless management sound-bites.
