Nile Ranger

Almost certain that they will take him on in my opinion. Need to as well because we are in a hole with Strikers.
Probably initially short term until January and then if everything goes ok on to the end of the season.

In two games where he has had his chance, his timing to get to the chances is so wrong. Part of this may be the fault of kr. he waited so long to sign him, made a big thing of him joining then has restricted his appearances to a point when it has come this week to; you wanted your chance, two/three games coming up show me what you are about.

So much pressure heaped on the young lad, really unfair. It's not really surprising that he hasn't performed. KR should have shown far more faith in him earlier in the season.

Again, announcing Jordan Rhodes is training with us, bad move? Should he have kept quiet about it. He's looking forward so far to January that part of me thinks he has forgotten that there nearly 2 months to go yet.
Jordan Graham.... ?

After KR comments re Smith after Saturday's game and the list published today I would be surprised to not see Ranger play for us Saturday.
I can see KRs point of view based on our strikers but personally don't want Ranger near our club

Well it seems the charm offensive for the announcement this week is gathering pace. Eastwood has said this morning that he’s excited to see the new faces (Ranger and Graham) training with the club..

I was in favour anyway as having worked with students from troubled backgrounds I know how much circumstance can affect them and always believe in giving them a way out with a clear path of how to achieve it. Having watched the Geordie interview thing on Twitter I believe it even more. If taken at face value He seems a tortured soul who has made bad choices and acted stupidly but doesn’t come across as malicious. Also he has the potential to be a really strong player for us in a position we really need to improve - may well not work out as he seems to have a self destruct button he regularly pushes but it might and he should have the opportunity to pull himself around. If it works will be good for us and for him.

I could allow and be more sympathetic for 1,2 maybe even three mistakes. But look at his history, what he has been convicted for. Some are violent.

He had a great career path, earning money that most would dream of. But had made a bad choice too many times to be forgiven.

An interesting alternative view.
I assume that you have seen his litany of offences?
In addition, from a footballing perspective it appears that he tends to miss training and is often thrown out of clubs for not behaving.
I guess that Ranger is in last chance saloon but wonder whether he is able to change so quickly?

I am more than comfortable with second chances for anyone................. sadly he`s on about number 11.
He`s not even that good a striker.

Suggest you watch the video bit long but interesting

There is more rejoicing in heaven over a sinner who repenteth...

God definitely played both sides...
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone but also
Let him who wishes to be deceived be deceived

Until two hours ago I was a definite no over signing Nile Ranger. Having just spent the morning watching the True Geordie interview with him, I've now changed my mind. He's either a very good actor or he genuinely knows what a tit he's been. Sign him on a pay per play basis, give him a chance. If he puts one step out of line, then get rid. If he is genuine in what he says in the video, then let him prove it. His true character will come out for better or for worse.

I suggest we give all the people he's committed a crime against a chance to make a video and have their say. Or do we have accept the words of a convicted criminal as the gods own truth.

Genuine question: How many clubs has he been kicked out of since making that video? If it’s very recent then fair enough, but if it’s before Southend Utd, then it’s obvious he’s not learning anything.
