Away Match Day Thread +++ 10/11/2018 Forest Green Rovers v OUFC FAC1 +++

A great player? That might be a bit over the top.

Worrying if his confidence has sunk so low after such a short spell, however poor, football like all sports is about mental toughness as well as the physical aspects, an arm round the shoulder is a temporary measure really, players need to be able push themselves on.

Hopefully he is just one 25 yard blast in the top hand corner away from being effective at this level, a big goal can boost a player more than anything else, but it is a bit of a worry what with him being on a 4 year contract.
Maybe he hasn’t settled in yet, maybe he hasn’t got the confidence in the players around him..

Just got back. That was right up there in the top ten of the most boringly inept matches I have ever had to sit through!

And to think Robinson thought we deserved to win!!

If their players could hit the target then they would have won 2-0.

If ours could, we would have won 4-0

Perhaps I've forgotten in the haze of one of the dullest matches I've ever seen, but what 4 very good chances did we have? I certainly can't remember us having any as good as the one they skied first half or missed by about two yards with the whole goal to aim at second half. For Robinson to say we deserved to win is deluded and patronising to those who had to sit through that pedestrian s**t show.

One of the most boring games I have seen. We now have to play away in a game that we could have done without and that will probably lose the club money. The only positive is that we are still in the draw for the next round.

Didn't go yesterday, not really interested in the FA cup anymore (neither are many other people judging by the crowds)
I was undecided on going or not, when the heavens opened at about 1PM in Wantage,it made my mind up for me.
Sounds like i dodged a bullet.

How can the game at FGR "lose the club money" ?

Don’t recall us having the whole of the goal to aim at with virtually no players in front of them needing only to hit the target to score?

Sad that you’ve taken the Premiershite stance of dissing the oldest cup competition in the world.

I take it you’d go if we draw a big club in the 3rd round or Swindon in the 2nd round. That’s if we get that far!!

The FA Cup has all the tradition. It is well worth supporting. Stuff the other competitions.

What yesterday mainly told is is that we have two totally inadequate loan signings.

Garbutt is too slow, too weak, too uncommitted to merit a shirt.

Same for Smith. He was obliterated physically.

If Ruffels, Holmes and Mackie had started we would have won.

No pressing yesterday ; very disappointing. Thought Nelson was pick of bunch.

Also agree that Cooper out thought Robinson especially second half when Whyte was blotted out
