Thohir

Location and underlying board member motives aside, one can't argue that Thohir should know what to includ in a new stadium build. Looking at DC's stadium, the following features are highlights which would be great in any new Oxford stadium:
  1. Fan proximity to the pitch: touching distance. Not a snowball in hell's chance of being able to drive an ambulance around the perimeter here!
  2. Stand gradiant: steep. Even those at the back feel close to the action. Stadia with a steep rake always seem to have a good atmosphere.
  3. Bike valet: genius. Very Oxford.
  4. Originality: no identikit crap. Very pleasing on the eye with the asymmetrical stand design gives a respectful nod to the Manor.
  5. Roof bar terrace: love that. Would that be legal in an English stadium? Would have to be behind some glass so technically inside or..?
  6. Plumbing: bound to be an improvement!

Headington didn't have football fans competing for park & ride parking/buses with shoppers.
Yes it did. I lived in Sandhills and used Thornhill P&R all the time. There were no problems with that at all. Plenty of room.

You know what the five sites are? Right.

Yes I do and I know that I can't prove that to you without breaking a confidence but I asked a very senior member of the OUFC hierarchy and got a straight answer on the understanding that I keep it to myself - so I will. I could (if you like a la Dynamo the Magician) write them on a piece of paper and seal the envelope so we can have a grand unveiling once they are announced to see if my list matches :D

Could the Peartree roundabout development be one of the options? Or has it already been suggested?

Sorry but are you saying Sandy Lane isn’t in the 5 or Oxpens? Or both?

I was referring to Oxpens which had been the subject of much discussion on here over the past 24 hours and I'm going to stop posting on this topic now otherwise the process of elimination will take us to 'the list'!

Can’t see where these sites will be if the OCC there is no room for house builds

You could tell Malc, who is beyond impeachable and I would imagine, keep a secret. Or email a mod a file, with a password that you give once its announced. For once, I'd like to see someone with sources actually get the credit for them.

You would imagine some of the Oxvox committee know, there are bound to others who know the prospective sites, it's not that big a secret and i'd be surprised if anything come of the 5 sites.

I remain open minded on the 5 sites. There are positives and negatives to staying and going, but let's see. We've seen lots of gum flapping from the council in the past, and the club too; I much prefer seeing actions.

My concern is the limitations of staying in the City and if the site chosen will be a compromise, like the Kassam is. We'll see
