Brexit

Dear Lord, everything that Davis, May and this Conservative government seems to do with regards Brexit comes across somewhere between desperate and pathetic.

They seem to have their own idea of what Brexit should look like (i.e. all the positives of EU membership with none of the negatives), but seem completely unprepared for any other scenario, or indeed the possibility that the EU might, shock horror, prepare properly for Brexit and play hardball in negotiations.

Even as a staunch Remainer, I still think that Britain can make a good go of it outside the EU as long as they have strong, pragmatic leadership.
But we ain't got that.....and I see noone waiting in the wings that's going to provide it any time soon.

Wow. Farage has suggested a second referendum might be a good idea.

I didn't see that coming. Brexit has more twists and turns than a twisty turny thing.

Whilst Farage has zero actual political power, his influence on the whole Brexit debate is significant.

He will no doubt have other comments to make on this over time, but by having such an arch Brexiteer raise the benefits of "Bref2" (you heard it here first!), the chances of it happening have surely increased significantly.

I'm quite surprised actually. He may feel as confident of winning bref2 as Cameron was of winning bref1. And look how that ended up.

Farage must fancy a chance at being relevant again. Must be boring doing a show on LBC

Like your double whammy use of moan Gazza. He can't be that confident of another referendum win though.. Didnt he apply for a German passport or was that fake news? Maybe he's realised he doesn't have an income in a little over a year ;)
In all honesty, in regards to Farage, I really don't care!

First the bus, then excessive credit card charges, then phone roaming charges, and tax loopholes of the rich... Then the Tories get back on with the privatisation of anything that's left of the state.

You mean the credit card charges thing that dear Theresa took credit for? It's all gone bonkers ain't it.

You mean looking for a way to plug the gap while doing something good for the environment? Aye, terrible EU. Best off out out out eh.
How about doing that to help nation states contribute less and help save the environment a few years back? Nah.

Good point. But at least they seem to be adressing it now. How about the foreign secretary? What do you think of his latest comments?

If it was designed to stir the pot with Remainers, he achieved that. Other than that, not a lot either way.

How about sending the EU a bill for our part in saving Europe in the Second World War....deduct the £40bn they say we owe them and they can pay us the difference. I remember Juncker telling us thank you for saving us from the Germans in the war but you owe us

That's one of The funniest things I've read on here. Thanks Peter.

I’m pleased you are able to share the humour....shame it’s more or less true though which is less than funny
