Home Match Day Thread +++ 9/10/18 OUFC v Northampton Town +++

Shame you C***s will be in the conference
Thank you for your concern but I’m worried that you might be in freefall. Your home loss against a team near the foot of league two must be a worry. We’ve addressed our problems and the future looks bright but it looks like you are in denial.

But you’re still in the bottom of L2 and we are for the moment in L1 whether we are at the end of the season remains to be seen. But being the 2nd best team you can have your bit of glory and we can all laugh if you’re in the conference next season.

Your worried about us???? P1ss off

Probably the most depressing match I have watched at the breeze block! We are all over the place defensively & not a clue elsewhere - time for a real change I am afraid.

We couldn’t string 2 passes together it seemed like the team couldn’t give a s**t, Robinson chased Smith all through the close season what a waste that’s turned out to be. I’d rather start Lopez or heap before him

Totally agree. They looked better than us all over the park. Except for up front where both sides were poor.

Their players have a new manager to impress, so for those who have been out of the team or want to keep their place, there is a certain motivation there.

Positives I can see for us is Eastwood, Carruthers and Browne made their returns from injury. As long as the first 2 come out of it ok, the first team should be immediately improved on Saturday (and it can't get much worse mind).

Then it's up to the manager to get the team organised and motivated

Tbh I don’t think Carruthers is ready He was so laboured last night and I know he needs game time but he did sod all last night and Browne was no more than a cameo I think we’re are looking at another 2/3 weeks before we will see glimpses of what they’re capable of doing.

Unless they exacerbate their injuries by being dragged back early for a pointless match?

I know KR made changes last night to give players a game but can someone tell me when he fielded the same team in successive games because I can't remember. I think that's half the trouble with our current situation;he keeps changing the team. How are the players supposed to get to know each other when they don't play together every week. If (sorry when we lose) he just puts out another team in the hope that something will happen. KR seems to be a reactive manager rather than a proactive one. He really needs to decide his best team and stick with it.

First game of the season, Carruthers got injured., 2nd game, Eastwood broke his finger. Holmes was in and out of the squad while he got his back sorted and signed, Mackie got injured, got fit, got injured, Browne got and fit got injured,. Let alone signing such as Hanson. I hope now the squad is almost back fit and we can settle this team down.

If we are pinning our hopes on Carruthers, then I hope he is better than the player I saw in the pre season game at MK.

Should we not be motivated though to just win a bloody game though?

Agree about the injury positives though. Need a refresh.

This is getting beyond a joke.......
We have gone from an “up and coming club” with plenty of players wanting to come and play for us to either progress the team or to resurrect their respective careers and move back up the football pyramid.
We have helped so many players over the last few years and the only football clubs prospering now are the football clubs these players now ply their trade.
Our investment to replace the likes of Roofey, Lundstram, Maguire, Callum, Ledson, Rothwell, Chey Dunlkey, Marvin Johnson and even Jake Wright have been poor over the last 2 seasons and ironically all are playing at higher levels and in some cases flying high.
It is very sad to say that the type of the likes of the above may not be replaced for some considerable time to come.
We were spoilt with good management and now we are paying the price with the inadequate running of the club...
Only one way now, and that’s down........,
