Fan's View - Luton at home

We are a complete shambles on and more worryingly off the pitch. Unless things change fairly soon then we are well and truly fucked.

I never want us to lose any game (even an EFL Trophy game) but I would accept the usual result from Southend on Saturday with a bit more grace if it brought about Robinson's demise.

Excellent as usual Paul. I reckon one or two drivers must have swerved when KR made that comment about Obika's "pace". Ye gods - what next?

Spot on with the comment about the inevitability of Luton grabbing the winner - you could just see it coming and it was the same with their equaliser - we can't keep clean sheets so you knew they were going to score at some point.

The mood outside afterwards was just flat and depressed I thought. There was no real anger about it but that's what it's come to - the inevitability that we were not going to come away with anything but it's the hope that we might that does you in though.

Good, honest report paul. Are you on the fence regarding KR or are you saying, in so many words, that he needs to go?

The comment about Obika’s pace (and I think he also mentioned it on RO before the match) is one of the more ridiculous bits of guff I’ve heard from Robinson recently - and that’s saying something! Obika must be a different person on the training pitch! Please can we play Smith? As it stands the boy is going to return to Reading low on experience and even lower on confidence; couldn’t get into that cr*p team, eh? Not very impressive, is it, young man? Obika is a complete waste of space, and if the rest of them are refusing to pass to him, what’s the point of him playing?! At least Smith has some potential, even if playing at Oxford hasn’t yet released it. Pick him for six matches and see how he does.

Can't see us going anywhere under him other than down. So, yes he needs to go. But who is the alternative? So possibly, no. Faz, no. Derry, no. Who would come in and be able to sort the mess out? I like Chris Allen but wouldn't want an ex-player who gave us some good times to be saddled with this mess. Plus he has no real experience at dealing with something like this. So it looks like we're damned if we do and damned if we don't.
I'll still be at Southend - supporting and not heckling though. And if KR does motivate them and come up with a tactical plan that gets us three points I'll give him all the credit due.

As long as that tactical plan isn't doing the same thing yet again, winning by one lucky goal after Southend have missed a hatful and thereby granting himself another few weeks to hope it will all magically come together, I will give him credit as well. Perhaps it will look good on his CV :)

All in all it was a very poor evenings entertainment. Excruciating to watch as the performance got more and more incompetent. As for the orchestrated time wasting well, we got our just reward. Pathetic.
All the same thanks Paul. Astute as ever.

In light of that shambolic, dire, unprofessional, shocking performance that report, Paul, is quite restrained.
If the BBC website report did a statistic on "headers won" I guess it would been something like Oxford 5 Luton 50.
Just baffling Henry did not play any part of that game. The team does seem to click better with him in it and he can score goals.
I suppose baffling is the apt word for most of KF management decisions, style and thought process.

Thanks for taking the time Paul, I took Mrs Grumpy with me, knows very little about football but she commented on the way home your team's looks very tired to me. Why Henry was left out or kept on the
bench confused me, but I've given up trying to analyze any of this now. We certainly don't look like a team who if we get win is going to start busting through the league

I feel that I am being worn down, game by game and am being drained of the energy to get angry.

So yeah, on the fence.. ? Another good report though Paul. Sums the mess up, who knows what the answer is.

The trouble is I’m not sure you can play Henry and Holmes together as they both tend towards a fairly free role

Shouldn't footballers play the role allotted them by their manager, whether it is their preferred role or not?

Well, I heard some very eye opening tittle-tattle yesterday about who the Inter Milan geezer wants when he buys in / takes over. Admittedly from someone who knows someone who knows someone itk so probably all a load of rubbish.

Just toying with some ideas for team in the next few weeks. How about trialling a Henry / Holmes loose forward formation with Henry in the Bergkamp role. Also maybe try Dickie as a hold up man

Eastwood

Norman
Nelson
Mousinho
Garbutt

Whyte
Baptiste
Carruthers
Browne

Holmes
Henry

Its amazing, this forum has more ideas about using the players we have, and their strengths/abilities, than the bloke who is paid feck knows how much and is "qualified".

Gissa job!
