KR discipline

Few things better in life than a dry legal document with "you f*cking French c*nt" dotted around in it. And saying he said "bench" instead of "French"? Utterly genius!

By the way, are these all available in the public domain? Would love to read the Mark Wright / Joe Ross altercation...

I just googled 'Karl Robinson disciplinary' and there it was so a similar search for Messrs Ross/Wright might bear fruit

Although the "bench" stuff is all very funny reading, really it would be more appropriate for someone in KRs position to just apologise, accept your punishment and try to improve your future behaviour instead of looking a bigger tit trying to get away with this? doesnt set the best example, and hes still doing it today so hasn't learnt a thing

That is my thing, he hasn't learnt to control his emotions.

Surely, actually talking to an official, politely but firmly without abuse or even without abusing an opponent is possible? I'm all for passion etc but if he wants players to act professionally and control themselves then he needs to follow the same approach.

He is a passionate guy, wears his heart on his sleeves, I’m not saying its right but football managers come in all shapes and sizes. KR is just being himself.
The issue is that it could in my view create an atmosphere of indiscipline and lead to players becoming less disciplined on the pitch. How are you supposed to stop indiscipline amongst your players if they see you behaving like that.

I’d love to sit on a panel like this: it’s the deadly dry language on the one hand and the subject matter on the other.

Two things : George Baldock! If only...

And this: “With the benefit of time, hindsight and calm reflection, Mr. Robinson may well have wished that he had articulated himself in a more nuanced and careful manner.” KR needs to repeat that to himself before every press conference

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. I’m convinced a team collectively takes on the personality of its manager. I know there’s probably no scientific evidence to back up the claim but it seems to constantly happen. Nasty confrontational managers have nasty teams, managers with dour personalities seem to produce boring if effective sides etc. If KR - and SD and DF for that matter - carry on with this sort of behaviour, watch the yellow and red cards start to mount up.

But we could be a touch more canny than we have been. Fair play awards are fine for U12 Saturday morning leagues but we do need to be a bit more cynical in my view just to keep up. Agree about touch line antics though

You can probably afford to be an arrogant loud mouth ranting indisciplined buffoon if your team is 2nd in the league after 8 games. If your lying 2nd from bottom however, you better choose softer words because they will be easier to swallow when you're sacked/relegated.
