2 games no points-6 gd no goals scored. 2000/01 season 3 games -5 gd no goals scored. Come on KR turn it round

2014-15 Season lost the first three league games and the two Capital One Cup games. Five games in all. Goal difference was ONLY minus 4 though, and we actually scored a goal! Appleton's first season.

Perhaps we need a five-goal drubbing in front of the cameras to turn things around: it's happened before. Coventry coming up on 9th September.

Didn't we win at Bristol City before losing on pens at WBA in the Cup?

My top three worst starts (based on league games) would be:

Number 3: 2000-01: Lost first four in the league. Never really recovered and ended up relegated with seven games to spare.

Number 2: 1991-92: Lost first five in the league. 2-0 down at home to Millwall in 6th game but recovered to scrape a point with a late Andy Melville goal. Just avoided relegation by winning at Tranmere on the final day.

Number 1: Some might disagree, but I would say 2008-09. Third season in the conference, praying for promotion. Lost 3-0 at Barrow then 1-0 at home to Weymouth. Started to pick up some points in the third game by beating Eastbourne 6-3, with Eddie Hutchinson recalled. Of course we found out later that Hutchinson should not have been playing since his player registration fax never got through. The points from the Eastbourne win and two subsequent draws were subsequently deducted, which effectively meant that we picked up no points from the first six league games. We finished the season four points outside the playoffs ...

Yer right. My error. But we did lose the first four league games and drew the next three if I have it right this time. Three points from the first seven league games and in the 22nd position.

Not sure what year it was but we won the first 3 then lost the next 6

It's not where you start but where you finish that matters!

That was 2012-13. Beat Bristol Rovers away, then Southend and Plymouth at home. Then lost six in a row, before coming back to beat Wimbledon 3-2. Somehow Wilder kept his job ...

League Cup used to be two legged ties in the first round, when did that stop? Late 80s?
Later than that. The last season with two legs was our last season at the Manor: 2000/2001. We lost our first four league games that season, but managed to win our league cup first leg at Wolves 1-0. Then got done 1-3 at home in the second leg.

91/92 - lost the first 5 league games, drew the 6th before beating Derby in the 7th.

Won at Tranmere on the last day of the season to stay up.

Those first 5 games were peak ‘Horton out!’

WOW, that late? I don't recall that tie against Wolves at all, but then I did blank a lot of that season out...
