WOW

I agree it’s been a very encouraging transfer window, and I think those three yesterday are great acquisitions. Let’s be patient though, please! We won’t thrash Fleetwood on Saturday and there are some really difficult fixtures (Portsmouth, Burton, Sunderland) on the horizon. It might well be three or four weeks before we see the new team effectively coming together, and in the meantime points will be hard to come by.
I’ll stick with my overall prediction of 8th as a finishing position, but I think the next couple of months will test the patience of some on this forum.

Singha beer now thai airlines and many others to quote the tiger wow money is coming .... and hopefully free beer and cheap holidays in the far east....wow

I WOWed before you did!

But I agree, a great deadline day.

ps Don't argue with me 'cos my dad's bigger than yours :)

Oh sorry missed that ..... but nothing like a double... or even triple wow:D you never know the gloom merchants may have missed it pmsl

Hate to agree with GUK but really needed Bazzers 20 goal man to get the neon lit wow up there. Be interesting to see if we try to plug this gap in the loan window.

still the loan and free agent route...i wouldnt be surprised at the moment....now is that messi still about?? lol

Im not sure its been a Wow window. Peterboroughs has. But its been a sensible one. With money received reinvested and we look stronger.

Holmes is a genuine wow signing at this level.

Still think a wow for me would have been a top striker. Someone like Doidge or Toney.

But positive overall.

Bury did what peterborough have done last year and look how that ended for them. The players Peterbrough have brought in are of better quality than burys but it will take time to bed in and you can't keep that many players happy. They have signed 5 strikers how does that work?
On doidge, even championship clubs were blown out the water for the asking price FGR were quoting for him (somewhere near 750k according to sky sports news). I'd love to have doidge at Oxford and probaby every other team in league 1 would but he is not a realistic target.

Love these sort of statements. You would have been impressed with a 25 year old striker who has played in the welsh premier league, the conference and league two. I'm willing to bet you have never seen him play once but because his name has been floated about on here you think he's good.

As for Peterborough, what impressed you? handing a 3 year deal to Isaac Buckley-Ricketts? Raiding League Two and Scotland to get 15 new players or whatever it is now?

What was crap about our window? Loaning Carruthers or Holmes who could walk in to any League One club? Signing a centre midfielder on a four year deal who has only played in the championship? A right back who has only played in league one, the championship or the premier league?

All you wanted was Doidge. Poor old kip.

Pretty sure all he said was that it's been a good window, but signing a proven goalscorer would have made it a 'wow' one, which overall I agree with.

Yet whenever we hear the term of proven goalscorer floated about this summer we hear Lyle Taylor, Doidge or Eisa. When the reality is none of them are and most have never seen the last two play. However we should pay a fortune for them but won't give the striker from a championship club a chance.

100% should have gone in for Toney. He would have fitted into our system so well!
