Hey

A new Sports Bar called J's has opened in the Ozone, above Frankie and Bennys.

Open from 10am-11pm Sunday-Thursday and until 1130pm on Fri-Saturday. Serving Coors, Strongbow and grub!

Did anyone try it out on NYD? May be worth a visit.

Who runs it and official affiliation to Oxford'?

Went in there on Monday, reasonably priced.
Was quiet until about 1.30pm then filled up

Won't be using this latest facility, maybe It has been long, very long, in the planning at the Ozone and might explain in part why The Priory? has been condemned to rot, because given the choice between the bright lights of the Ozone or a light and bitter at the Priory? - no contest as far as I'm concerned, and I'd guess many more would feel this way, if the cynical closure of the listed PH hadn't been allowed to occur.

Don't read links from that paper it screws up my mobile with all the adverts and pop ups.
it does that on mine too

heres a very brief overview

Its called J's sports bar and has a sign over the door proclaiming 'the fourth stand'

Salli Merola is the owner

its focusing on pool and football

the owner hopes Oxford United fans make it their favoured watering hole on matchdays

J's bar pay rent to the same landlord as Oxford United FC

mcf86 view/comment above ^^^ is one I agree with

Do they allow away fans in and is it overly policed my doorman
dont know and dont know
oufcad30 (post above ^^^ on this thread) has been in Js bar and may be able to give first hand answers to both of your Q's?

I went in and it was decent, got served easy, especially considering it was the first day which is normally a nightmare for bars/pubs with teething problems.

It’s a sports bar in a leisure complex, if you are expecting an olde worlde pub supping half an obscure ridiculously named bitter then it ain’t going to be for you.

If you want a pint/ bottle that you will get in most normal bars/pubs while having the prem games on a lot of tvs, with the plus side of plenty of pool tables if that’s your thing, all within a very short walk of the stadium then give it a go, I will be using it sometimes.

The whole Kassam getting money thing ain’t perfect but he has plenty of cash whether you drink in there or not, it’s not possible for us to hit him in the pocket so if the new bar adds to peoples match day experience that’s a good thing for OUFC.
