I imagine they're quite busy, but until all players get back from holidays, not much business can get done. Probably a lot of deals that rely on other deals getting done first, a club getting one player in which makes another surplus to demand, etc.

Exactly. It’s like being in a house buying chain.

For example. We may have had an offer for Nelson which we feel is too good to turn down due to the length of his remaining contract, but we’re not prepared to let him go until we’ve agreed a deal for a replacement centre back, the replacement we’ve lined up is also under contract, and so it goes on.

All very frustrating for players, managers and fans alike.

A bit of patience is required.

I would be very surprised. I reckon that the contract with Eastwood was quite clever (sign up and after one year he can move for an agreed price- if we do well there is no reason he would want to move on but if we don't he can move on but for a decent fee).

I assume that Nelson isn't as keen as Eastwood to sign such a contract though. Maybe teams are after him in the Championship despite his injuries last season?

I think Nelson will go his agent has probably told him he can do better than OUFC
 
Does anyone know of players have to go to the Kassam for any reason before pre season? Rob Hall posted a video of him there this morning.

Wouldn't mind if it was a new contract he was going to sign. Then again he could just be going to Hollywood bowl. Hopefully not the latter of the two though.
 
Don’t think the office is ready at the training ground yet so would imagine the Kassam is being used

Only one game I know but I wasn’t overly impressed with him in the play-off final. He didn’t seem particularly tall or have much pace that I could see.
 
3 or 4 deals already done.... just waiting on 'selling clubs' to pick the right day to announce. COYY
 
I know his name has come up in various threads and I will never claim to be in the know but as an aside, a friend of mine is a sponsor at Wycombe and was told by Gareth Ainsworth yesterday that 'Oxford are all over Luke O'Nien'. There are a few clubs showing interest but supposedly Robinson is very keen and we are ready to offer a fee.

O'Nien has a year to go on his contract and Wycombe don't want to sell to Oxford.
