World Cup match chat

I don't think the Briggsy sending off was massively late, think it was around the 70min mark or so (although I may be wrong). But Keegan was certainly in the ref's ear all game.
as usual, my memory isn't all that

Onto Egypt v Uruguay.

What’s up with Suarez? He looks like he’s run a marathon already. Sluggish and no first touch whatsoever.

The consensus at work. so far. for this game is not friendly and thus unprintable.

A much more competative game then yesterday’s one sided affair.

Lot of empty seats.

Hilarious fail by Jonathan Pearce for the Suarez chance that hit the side netting.

Part of the first round of games, for me, is always seeing which star players seem up for it and on their game.

Evidence of today would suggest that Suarez is not.....and if that's the case, you can write off Uruguay as serious contenders.

Egypt need to beat Russia now, and they're not doing that without Salah. Wonder if they just kept him out today because they knew that Godin would be clobbering him in the shoulder every chance he got.....or maybe he's really crocked, and only there to give their fans false hope......

Gonna miss Morocco vs. Iran. Hate missing any WC match......but I suppose this is one that I can live with!

The Telemundo commentator I was watching got two thirds of the way into his 'Goooooooooooooooooooooooool' before realising he was an idiot

Loving Iran in this game, playing on the break, throwing bodies in front of the ball, long throw specialists, wild shots as soon as they get a sight of the goal, it's like the pub team that lucked into the third round of the FA Cup.

Not that it's working too bad so far against Morocco, though they are probably in for a shoeing from Spain and Portugal.

This game is a bit League 2. Little quality, lots of running around and lots of hefty challenges. The only thing missing is Simon Heslop.

The ITV Studio is hideous.

All those 3D cubes, what’s that all about? What were they thinking of??

As I'm 'Dad- sitting' been( kinda ) all watching the World Cup matches (so far) with me Dad .... first three games between low and abysmal in the entertainment stakes

FIFA is changing the format to include even more nondescript national teams in future tournaments....maybe give qualification to the top 8 or 16 National teams ....the ones that guarantee both a huge following at live games AND a huge worldwide viewership on TV ( keeps the sponsors happy - its now all about money)- and either bring the 8 (or 16) National teams in at the group stages or even at the post group stages?

And, why not resurrect Home Internationals if anything will help the national team improve that would have much more impact than either meaningless friendlies and qualifying matches against the Faroe Islands, San Marino and similar levels of opposition?

Still not enamoured with World Cup 2018 as yet.... now let's see what transpires in the Portugal v Spain match
