RIP Craig Farrell

I honestly can’t remember him playing for us, is there any footage of his goals for us?

His two goals. One at home in a 3-0 win against Barrow.

And the other in a 3-0 away win against Eastbourne, more noted for Adam Murray’s goal direct from a corner.

He was a fairly modest player but certainly contributed to our late charge to the playoffs in our 2008-09 campaign. He carved out a career in the lower leagues and did enough to catch the eye of Chris Wilder.

39 is way too young. RIP Craig Farrell.

Thank you.

I've forgotten about so many players that played for us around that time but I remember Farrell quite well. He didn't look like much of a goalscorer but he was technically pretty good and did a reasonable job for us. Sad news. RIP

Almost the perfect "hold up/support" striker for his partners, and a genuinely top, top bloke. Shocker.

You were his close personal friend?
No need for sarcasm, but we shared several mutual friends and had a couple of evenings out with him, my brother refereed several of his games and I know a few players who played with him at York City.. so yes I have an idea that he was a nice guy.

This is sad news, I vaguely remember him among the whole plethora of strikers drafted in by Wilder.

What was his cause of death ?

RIP
