EFL programmes

  • Match day programme will no longer be compulsory
League Cup

  • Will not go to extra time, straight to a penalty shootout, except the final.
  • ABBA scrapped.
  • VAR will be in use at EPL grounded.
Checkatrade:

  • EFL clubs will now be able to include players who are on loan at National League clubs.
  • Category One teams who take part will only be allowed to name two players who are over the age of 21 and have played more than 40 first-team games.

That a real shame about the programs. I hope most club continue to do one, even it’s it a much slimed down cheaper option. Collecting one from each ground on the 92 club so it’s going to really balls that up

In 5 years it'll all be downloadable PDFs onto your mobile phone.

EFL , FA and PL between them are doing their utmost to mess up EVERY cup competion ...as long as the monied elite are ok, B*****s to all the other football clubs. Magic of the cup yeah right

That won’t work with my collection so far [emoji16].

What are the economics of the OUFC programme? What does it cost to produce and is this covered by sales and advertising?

Programmes generally never sell at a profit and usually lucky if they break even.

I’d hope though OUFC still do a programme.

Glad to see ABBA scraped.

Extra time being scraped actually benefits lower league clubs as they have more chance of winning a shootout than playing an extra 30 minutes against a bigger club.

The tinpot trophy is still a joke as long as premier league clubs are allowed to take part. I actually hope 2 u21 teams get to the final so it proves a point as I can see a very low crowd to watch a load of kids playing.

What was the issue with the ABBA concept - I understood it was going to solve everything?
Also disappointed that seeding has been removed from 2nd round of League cup, as that at least gave everyone a big opponent to face once you were through the first round - guess it is whether the opportunity for a longer stay in the competition through facing a string of lower clubs is better than getting a 'bigger' tie in round two, or whether it will become a second string affair for lower clubs as well?

At least by reverting to the old system it’ll be easier for fans to spot when The Winner Takes It All.
