General New kit 2022/23

That would work.
It would be a fantastic kit but it's a custom kit. The last few years kits have been off the shelf templates and if Macron are to be the new suppliers then this kit is the only yellow and navy option. Its OK, its got contrast/shiny stripes which makes it a bit more interesting than previous years. Screenshot_20220511-155542_Chrome.jpg

As they've released a Manor Leisure selection, any chance we can get a nod to the 95/96 kit?

Think there will be a sash in the mix somewhere...

As an aside, it's been raised on here a couple of times that we rarely wore yellow shirts away from home last season (or last few seasons).

So I thought I'd check, and the last 5 seasons reads:

2017/18 - wore yellow shirts in 16/23 away League games
2018/19 - 16/23
2019/20 - 6/18 (6/20 including Pompey in the play-offs and Wembley)
2020/21 - 5/23 (5/24 including Blackpool in the play-offs)
2021/22 - 2/23 (and not since September)

Going back further, it looks as though most seasons would at least be half and half, wearing yellow shirts for 12+ away games.
Admittedly there was an away AND a '3rd' kit last season to fit in/get use out of, but they were still worn in just 9 and 12 away League games respectively (with cup games on top) – so individually more times than just one away kit has been worn in total in previous seasons.

Pretty remarkable how much the use of yellow on our travels has been reduced recently which is disappointing - and it does look like a KR decision for whatever reason as it coincides with his time at the club (not having a pop, before the KR defenders log-on).

So, whatever the design of the new home kit is - don’t expect to see it used away from Grenoble Road too often next season.

One kit will be yellow and blue (home), one kit will be all white then could be any colour for a 3rd kit. Ideally a purple or dark blue kit.
Next season our yellow shirts would only clash with 4 potentially 5 teams (Shrewsbury, Burton, Cambridge, FGR, Mansfield). I still don’t expect us to wear our yellow shirts away from home much at all though.

I absolutely agree with this (of course). The below is from the latest OUSP meeting which confirms there'll be a third kit again and that the kit selections are made by the first team. Hopefully in the next meeting a request to the players can be made that they choose to wear yellow unless we're playing Burton, Cambridge, Mansfield and possibly Shrewsbury. There aren't many teams that we need to change against so a third kit isn't necessary from a footballing point of view but I understand the income reasons. I'm not sure as many will purchase kits with most feeling the squeeze financially, perhaps the club could keep the kits for more than a season?

Hopefully the fashion conscious young lads that play for us will deem the new home kit to be smart enough for them to wear more than the minimum necessary. I get yellow isn't everyone's colour of choice but its been out colour for while now so hopefully the first team can respect that.

Reading FC had a yellow Macron away strip this season and it’s pretty ghastly.

Agree not great by today's standards, but in fairness, it was purposely extremely similar to an old Reading away kit they wore in the late 80's. (With Courage as Sponsor).reading-87.jpg
