That's a better shout than Defoe. Both are London based which gives us a chance over the likes of Sunderland - in Defoe's case.

What about both - there wouldn't be many L1 clubs who could boast 2 ex-England Internationals up front - I'm not being very serious before someone gets excited......

Only outfield player still playing in the Prem/EFL who debuted before our move away from the Manor Ground is Phil Jagielka, but he never played against us back then. Rest are all keepers. Though, like Defoe, there may be others playing abroad...

If we are talking about ageing strikers, what about Andy Carroll. He is available after being released by Reading, younger than Defoe and is match fit. Not saying we are in for him or that he would want to come but he has loads of experience and would give us something different.

And would command a hefty wage

Don’t see how we get Defoe tbh.

We surely have much more experience of offering ageing players/injury prone players at higher risk of injuries a good physio package? Surely our experience in this area should clinch any deal.
