Ox-Rails

You may be able to drink and watch the game at a rugby game. But you still have to watch rugby which is a near unwatchable load of nonsense.
You have to pretty stupid not to understand the basics of rugby. Big blokes hitting each to win the ball, to give it to the smaller blokes who run with the ball. Simples.

Racing fans really got into it at the weekend didn't they? Nary a policeman, police horse or dog unit in sight. Can't imagine the furore and media indignation if that happned at a football ground with a bunch of boozed up hoolies having a massive tear up

What happened?

Big brawls at Ascot and Goodwood last week: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/horseracing/6275352/huge-brawl-ascot-violence-horse-racing-goodwood/

No arrests made at Ascot, which considering what you can be arrested for at a football game, is quite surprising and laughable. The issue has been bubbling under at racecourses for a few years, but the media has finally caught on

Already been suggested that it was Southampton and Portsmouth fans scrapping at Goodwood... Of course.

Like Cardiff and Swansea did at Newbury (I think) a year or two back. At what point do you stop being a football fan and then a race goer?

3 year banning order plus an ABC merely for pavement dancing for football fans (unless they're a scummer invading the pitch during play at a local derby game!) .....priveliged classes do what they like with not even a slap on the wrist!......if @PC956S is still on yf?...As it's not operational, maybe we can be enlightened as to why you can go to a racecourse and have a drunken brawl yet if you fart in the wrong key at a football match you're risking a ban and fine?....all sports fans should be treated the same imo

Some good points being made on these threads. I go to a lot of race meetings and typically the police presence is very very low compared to the number of police I see at our home and away games.

The fences killed those at Hillsborough not the terracing, standing will be safe enough without these stupid rails ...just take the seats out and have the same number of people allowed in that section.....SIMPLE!!

I wonder if this Man City player got taken to court and jailed for lighting this flare????.................didnt think so ;)

If he did that anywhere within the Thames Valley it'd get him a 3-year ban (at least)
The Oxford fan at Plymouth got 2 months jail for having one in his possession and it wasnt even alight

which kinda proves the point:cautious:

...though if it was alight in his pocket, would itve been a pocket rocket or would his trousers by default have become flares?:eek::eek:

Evening sarge. I am still here. The Ascot video I’m led to believe involved West Ham v Villa fans/supporters. It happens a lot more than is reported. Not just race meetings. Concerts and boxing matches to name a couple. Not arranged, just chance meetings. Can’t comment on why they weren’t arrested as wasn’t there.

cheers for the response...any reason as to why football supporters are treated (and policed? ) differently to all other sports supporters?
