Stratfield Brake - Questions

Is there are plan B to fall back on if the new stadium plan doesn't get the positive vibes the owners need or there are too many costly hurdles put in the way to achieve it? If these stadium plans become difficult or not feasible could this put OUFC as a football club at shorter term risk if plan A can't work?

Find another site? I've already mentioned elsewhere on this forum that I was surprised that Horspath playing fields (immediately to the west of the athletics track) was not named by the club as a preferred site, but perhaps there is a good reason for this?

I think this is the risk with this discussion though. We could say "the new stadium will be closer to the pitch than the Kassam", but that's starting from a low bar. We could say that Tottenham's stadium is as close as they could get it to the pitch, but it doesn't look close enough for my liking. I don't want the club or fans to settle for something that's just OK, we need to aim to be the best and one area I'd like to see us focus on is whether we can break the myth that new stadia have to be built away from the touchline, and that you can only get that intense atmosphere from a century old stadium like the Manor or Kenilworth Road.

Not getting carried away but ..... I do believe the Champions League has certain criteria on a minimum distance to the pitch. Proper planning and all that!!

I've done a quick Google, and can only find reference to this for stadia that are planning on hosting the Champions League Final. Not sure it applies to a club who happens to qualify to compete in the competition, so I think we're OK!

On the other hand, if we want to ensure Oxford is hosting any future World Cup final or Champions League final, maybe we should reconsider!

Don't need to find another site so I wouldn't worry about that. As for land near the training ground it's not got the road network or a train station to cope and would cost too much to get these in place

Question: If we get the go ahead and planning approval and start building the stadium and there are delays. As after this season, we have four seasons remaining at the Ka$$tad. Would there be extensions beyond until we can move or 2026 that's it and have to ground share somewhere else?.

Question: With the new stadium at Strafield Brake, Would Oxford City be asked to move in and ground share with us?.

You'll have to ask the nice Mr. Kassam that.
