General New Stadium Plans - Stratfield Brake

Really hope the stadium plans all work out with the mens, woman's and academy teams making very good headway over the last few years.

In a recent interview, KR was eluding to other plans that the directors have that he cannot speak about.

That led me to a bit of ‘yellow and blue’ sky thinking and attempting to guess how this could all unfold.

Oxfordshire does not have a professional rugby team or a top end county cricket team. Could we be seeing the future of a potential ‘Oxford’ All Blacks premiership rugby club and a new Oxford County Cricket 11 based at the new stadium/park by developing the clubs in situ, along side a top ranked Oxford Stars ice hockey team.
The Directors could invest into Oxford University/Brooks by way of a new OU sports science department which could also be partly based at the new stadium. Oxford University is not well know for sports science. That could potentially give the directors the link into Oxford University which they appear to desire that they could in turn use for marketing/PR.

Makes me think the opportunities in the future could be endless for Oxfordshire if SB does go ahead.

Random thoughts while I deliberate my plan to live for another 10 years so that I can see all this unfold.

Has anyone tried to do a detailed breakdown of what we see on the masterplan?
Obvious
Football Stadium
Ice Rink
3 rugby pitches
brown arrows = direction of flow of fans

South West of the stadium big U shaped building= hotel? although it does look more like a terrace of apartment blocks?
Small square to the West of the stadium by rugby pitch = rugby pitch changing room?
Trapeziod direct to the West of the stadium = away fans facilities?
South and further South East of the stadium and other areas - rectangular blocks with no bold borders = coach park and various car parks?
Approach to stadium from South East. Five oblongs = "fan zone" / club shop?
Linked building between Stadium and Ice rink = ??? Food and drink? Restarants? Conference facilities?

In the Eastern triangle as well as the pitches
3 small squares = changing rooms?
L shaped building and U shaped building = more hotels?

Not obvious at all - internal design of stadium. Presumably exec boxes, concourses, club office.
I guess mainstand and home fans = SE stand.
Away fans = West stand if the trapezoid = more facilities?
Bars and food and beer? "supporters club"?
Look back and you will see that I have also tried to identify all the boxes drawn in.
But we have to remember that this is just is sizing-up drawing, not a definitive plan, It will change!

The building north of the 2 rugby pitches in the triangle is probably the rugby clubhouse, likely with changing facilities. The smaller squares dotted arounf the whole site are a mystery.

The rectangular blocks are very likely parking spaces for players, directors of OUFC and visiting clubs, and high profile guests. Also for police ambulance, disabled persons etc. I think that should be enough, you and me and many others not coming with the train or bus will have to park in ther P&R and then walk the rest. About as far as from the Blackbird. When completed I can imagine that the housing area directly north of the stadium will be residents only on match days.

It will be up to the fans to make it work by using sustainable transport whenever possible.

So, at which point will Bakrie and Co take full charge of OUFC? If there's a positive outcome on the 18th and they can apply for planning or after planning permission has been granted?

My thoughts too. Will I live to see the stadium And if alive, can I still travel over from the Netherlands?

But isn’t isn’t a hub for the village
Yes,it is, you know how it goes, some are valid rummors, some a hint of truth& some completely way off the mark .so I couldn't really tell you anything more more . it's all he said she said at moment hahaha

Do we know if the Womens team will be playing their games at the new stadium to? I would assume so?

In the triangle it would seem logical that the L shaped building is the rugby clubhouse, changing rooms etc.

The building at the top of the triangle is shown with flow across a pedestrian bridge to the main site... so possibly more food/leisure outlets?

I think there's a thread about the take-over somewhere on the forum. The thread gives the impression that the take-over will complete once the EFL have completed the right and proper tests and received all due payments. Something like that.

More important; will the ground contain a KFC for @greatunclekip ?

The LIB DEMS support the move to Stratfield Brake ... Id've thought that would include Oxford West MP Layla Moran?

see @Fanatica 's post a page or so ago - with a number a facts and links
No it’s here anti housing development of Yarnton, Begbroke and Kidlington haven’t seen anything from her yet on the football ground although if her monotonous ls are supporting it she will follow suit just so that she can keep her supporters on side

and for the local council(s) to ensure bus companies provide public transport ( busses ) to the new stadium from various parts of both the City (OX1, OX2, OX3 OX4), and the county, on matchday pre and post-match

You can f*****g well say that again!

Although in fairness: I don't think Oxford Civic Society was involved (at least they were never mentioned when I was banging on at E.H.) and I have a feeling E.H. was spun a line by the council and Satan's representative. The real mystery is why the council let pass 2 easily enforceable opportunities (1. Satan must refurbish the fabric of the Priory before building on the new hotel commenced. 2. to overcome 1. above Satan's gang cut a deal to refurbish the Priory inside and out and the council could have forced them to do that before the hotel opened.

In the absence of any apparent other reason for the council's dereliction of their duty to protect their property a cynic would think that brown paper bags full of cash were handed out. I'm sure that's not the case otherwise the Oxford Mail's investigation would have uncovered it and we would know.

Local journalists (term used losely) now spend their days trawling FB for anything with lots of reactions and present it as "news".

I agree 100% with what the council could have done but it all appears to have disappeared under a particularly lumpy carpet.

It needs EH to serve notice on the Council, although they`ll just add some words to the "at risk register" and wait for the mysterious fire.....

can you remember what post or page? found it #538

The Populous built Allianz Field (19,400 capacity) definitely looks very similar to the stadium 'plan' in the proposal document... maybe they just did a cut and paste.

It has the open corners shown. As for steepness of stands and proximity to pitch it doesn't look too bad. Also looks like it has safe standing seats behind the goal??

A really sweet stadium that i would be ecstatic with tbh, this is a picture of the away end, the home end has the Brew Hall and has pretty much no roof
which is the only thing that i would change, keep the brew hall and move the roof from the away end over to the home end.

I'm not joking but a "Brew Hall" sounds like the last place in the world I'd want to go for a pint, and I have drunk outside the TFI Friday's by Northampton's ground. I don't particularly care if they have a microbrewery or nettle beer brewed in their Y-fronts by hippies, it's not a proper pub and it's not a shitty bar either of which I am habitually comfortable in. I drink 'real ale' whenever possible, btw.

But that's just me. I'm so last millenium. What ever gets the crowds in is ok.

There was talk before premier in. Stuck their noses in that it was going to be a KFC which is a shame as this part of Oxford want one but the downside would be @greatunclekip frequenting the place……as they say not in my backyard.

Kfc refused that location as its hidden behind the trees so can't be seen from the a415.

We wouldn't be allowed to have a brew hall/bar/pub similar to in the photo due to ground regs... would we?

If football fans acted like adults you probably could, or just price out the riff raff and make it for ST holders only?

Can sit in your seat at the Rugby with as many beers as you like.

Hello.

Local journalists? Generally agree but we mustn't give up - a trawl through the Paul Foot Awards shows a wee glimmer in the capitalist night.:)
I did provide my email chains to the OM a few years ago, together with a couple of pointers, the expected happened.

Wrt English Heritage I'm not sure what powers they actually have. The 'at-risk register' at least publicises that a building is being permitted to rot but I think it's still the council's responsibility to enforce any actions. I can't see anything on EH at-risk pages that talks about serving notice (being at work you may have more time than I ;)). E H declined to add the Priory to the register because (I paraphrase) 'of expected outcome of discussions between the parties' while the hotel was being built iirc.

Perhaps a benefit of all this could be that the council will force Satan to properly fix the Priory for use as a community hub with part of his proceeds from the forthcoming housing deal. Trebles all round!
