I've just spoken with the SLO at MK Dons regarding the seat locations for our visit on the 11th December. Very surprised and disappointed to hear that the initial allocation of 700 tickets is located in block 29 of the away section. This is the corner section and leaves blocks 25 through 28 empty. These are the blocks behind the goal. They would consider block 28 once the initial allocation has been sold (or indications are that more tickets will be required)
I asked if this was wise, given that fans would be disappointed in the chosen seating area, would it not be better to allocate blocks 26 & 27 as the initial offering? No satisfactory answer was forthcoming.
I have informed the Supporters' Panel who will, no doubt, have a discussion with the club. Hopefully someone at MK Dons will see sense. I remember a couple of seasons ago when we split into two sections, it ruined the atmosphere. Probably the aim of the exercise.
Seating plan MK Dons

....isnt the 'splitting up' of visisiting away fans at the franchise stadium ( so there's not a packed away support behind the goal in the away section) a legacy of KR's ? .... vaguely recall a post match interview with him a few seasons ago (?) where he revealed it was his idea/ insistence that away supporters ( at the franchise) were nullified somewhat by splitting large travelling support away from behind the goal?

They put away fans in the upper tier corner for a couple of seasons and that was even worse. And that ground needs all the atmosphere it can get not less.

Is that why KR came here then, a guarantee of no away fans behind the goal, and always in the corner. 😂

The worst ground I have ever been to for atmosphere.
4000 away supported and you could hardly hear them ( let alone the home supporters)

Agree. I went a couple of years back when we were split in to 2 sections. If that's the case this time around I won't be going.

Good thing - 3 under 12`s are free with an adult. (y)

Bad thing - £22 to get wedged in the corner of a soulless bowl.

Good thing - The Red Lion.

Bad thing - MK is now a cashless stadium.

Good thing - been before with the "4k to MK" day.

Meh.

It would have to be an important game for Oxford for me to go back there. I went the last time we played there and fans were allowed and it was an awful experience, the ground literally sucked out any possibility of atmosphere with the way they set it up. It makes our Concrete Wind Tunnel appear brilliant for atmosphere in comparison when it clearly isn't.

Was also colder in there then I have ever experienced at the kassam. Below ground level may be the reason but the cold wind blew in through the opening between the seats and the roof and felt like artic wind hitting you. Work Xmas party the night before so could be a good one to miss and watch on ifollow.

I've been informed that the club are talking to MK regarding this situation.
Mrs Lounger and I will not be buying tickets until MK act in a reasonable manner towards visiting fans. Just so fed up with clubs treating fans like cattle and an inconvenience to their afternoon.
Makes no commercial sense whatsoever. Room for 30,000 (4000 away) and they want to shove us in a corner? They should be encouraging us to attend and spend money not the other way around.

Maybe if they don’t agree to put us fans behind the goal instead of shoving us in a corner instead of 4K to MK we should do no way to MK and boycott the game 😁

It's not so much not being behind the goal is the problem. Last time we filled both corners and had an empty area in between half of us so it was like having 2 sets of away fans. I won't be returning until they change that stupid rule and a few others I know are not attending.

Kassam at the moment takes some beating for that, was like a library last night and has been since the return of fans.
Not sure that it would have been with 4k away fans ( as opposed to 60)
I have heard 300 Oxford fans make more noise than 4k at MK due to that sh1t stadium!

I just don’t think we can slag any other club off for atmosphere at the moment, our place is as bad as it can get. It’s a shame as we have a team that deserves so much more but it’s like a morgue.

Hopefully with a real backs to the wall effort needed Saturday after a fantastic win yesterday people will get behind the team and give them the support they deserve.

I think when Tiger got rid of the Ultras, that was the last chance of an atmosphere thwarted...
