International News Black Lives Matter

I think everyone sees this clear as day, but you know what you are trying to insinuate and stir here.

You might be in denial about it, but I think that is plain for all to see.

I don't remember you making the same points about Jo Cox' killer and his social media/ideological beliefs[emoji1745]

Nor of the 6th Jan Captiol Hill killers.

Nor Rittenhouse.

But plenty on the George Floyd case about his character, history and possible mitigation for police actions.

And plenty on knife/gang-related crime on both sides of the Atlantic.

Patterns of behaviour can be very informative when they are this consistent.

Jo Cox` killer was a right wing nut job and there wasn`t a campaign built around him.

Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges by a jury - I despise American gun laws but that is their problem.

Capitol Hill was another Americanised issue - not accepting of democracy - we are more civilised than that allegedly.

Fact of life - most knife crime involves or impacts, and is one of the greatest societal concerns, for BAME families.

If folk shout "racism" at facts then they don`t talk about them for fear of offending..............

And as I asked previously, you have all the "facts" to hand as regards the Wisconsin killings do you?

And wilful misrepresentation of facts, or calling things "facts" that you simply can't corroborate, or wilfully insinuating there is an as uproven link between two facts, would appear to suggest you are pushing an agenda here.

Nobody but you is trying to link his actions to his support BLM....and then play the racism card when you are challenged on it.

By all means enlighten fellow posters if you are of course trying to infer something different[emoji1745]

By contrast, Jo Cox' killer had expressed many right wing, pro Brexit, anti-immigration views online, yet you say there was no campaign built around those issues....really?

Or is it more because they put these issues in an unfavorable light to be associated with him?

For the record, I think he was an unhinged right wing nut job as you say. Clearly a very unwell individual who acted alone.

@Mojofilter - on the pitch performances during the late 90's/early noughties were mostly a crime scene, but I'm not going to hold you responsible for them[emoji6]

Holding views to the right of centre does not make one a defacto "racist".

Creating division based on skin colour is far more harmful

Not talking about problems for particular parts of society is more harmful.

Go and have a look on Twitter if you want to see how "the people" (not me) were able to find the car used, the driver, his matching description, his youtube videos (with the car in them), his charge sheet, his release on bail 2 days previously.

As for expressing views on social media try this from the alleged perpetrator. 🤷‍♀️

And so by that association you blithely write off a whole cause[emoji1745]

Wow...you should see some of the more radical anti asylum seeker and Pro Brexit stuff lurking in these social media swamps you're choosing to fish in....

Creating any kind of division is harmful and causes more problems that it solves, surely[emoji1745]

This is a common tactic of the right wing. Find an isolated incidence of wrongdoing and imply that it is equivalent to, and negates, a much more widespread evil trend or phenomenon. See also the Yorkshire cricketer.
You also see this sort of argument in relation to things like climate summits - where right wingers claim they are worthless because some people have to fly to get there. I don't think even the people putting forward the argument believe it, they're just trying to drag everyone down to their level of cynicism and negativity.

I am clearly getting more mature in age because I don't understand any of that.

Agreed - whilst optically it doesn't look good, the people in a position to effect real change are very busy individuals and so they need to be efficient in terms of travel. That said, I'm not suggesting that the actual outcome of the recent COP26 justified the carbon footprint caused.

I do love the fact that you frequently refer to 'Twatter', deriding it as a source of 'noise' and disinformation and yet it suddenly has become your go-to news source. Nice that you've also subtly moved to 'alleged perpetrator'.

I'm certainly not defending this guy and his views in any way, but you certainly making your point.

In amongst the tornado of debris and echo chamber "noise" (the kind of tat QR posts) there is some good stuff. :)

And it can get things done. (y)

Case study:
Problem - lack of street bins along about 2 miles of high footfall pavement that passes 3 schools, cycle centre & multi use sports pitches that are open 7 days a week equates to lots of litter.
Residents complain to local councillors for 18 months - nothing.
Post on Twitter tagging the city council, the mayor, the local MP and bingo - 3 bins arrive within 2 weeks of "nagging" via the platform.
Outcome - much less litter, happy residents.

OK, OK I give up - we've moved from a frankly dubious post to this. I'm going to take my cue from @ZeroTheHero ie bowing out and sticking to football.

Impressive use of Squirrel again.

You are right.

The suspect has been named.

And if you look at his online presence you will see the car in his youtube videos, you can see the car parked outside his home, well jigger me it's the very same person that "the internet" had identified as the perpetrator.

Fancy that eh?

And that has what to do with your case study about bins?

A "mostly peaceful" demonstration by the driver.

Am I right in thinking that the only reason this tragic incident is being spoken about on this thread is because the perpetrator has made BLM related comments on social media?

Is there anyway we can find out his view on the vaccination, brexit, Jamie Hanson and whether or not Robinson can be blamed for covid, playing/not playing etc? I would hate to think that other threads are missing out!

Alternatively it might just be that the original poster is using confirmation bias based on their questionable beliefs?
