Away Match Day Thread 02/10/2021 L1: Sheffield Wednesday v OUFC

Well! What a week it’s been at Horspath rd.

Victory parties all round.

It was like Prince Andrew had arrived - the staff happily passing around the box of fat, imported Cubans!

An impromptu players conga led by super Matt and the flicking marvellous James (hooray) Henry ended abruptly after Sykesy( in a bubble all of his own), felt a stiffening in his groin. I had heard that he is averse to small pricks so maybe that is it!?

Gav then flew in by helicopter to join the frolics. All too much of course for Marcus McGuane, who was unfortunately bitten by one of Karl’s racing Whippets just as he was getting back to full fitness… the whippet should make a full recovery while marcus is out for another month with mange… oh the dangers of dogging!

Oh, yes. It’s Monday madness down here at the training ground.

Good news for all you Sam Winnall fans… He has been converted to sweeper.

Oxford City council seem very pleased with him.

Lastly, The new board were down, having a look around 3 other potential sites for the new ground. Barton, Rose hill and Bretch hill Banbury.

The board commented that they were disappointed as it was the first time that they have been spat at, beaten, stabbed and robbed…since our home game last month!!!😂

That’s all for now folks.

This is absolutely fascinating viewing from 13 minutes onwards. The karl pilkington of Wednesday. His greenhouse has a hole in it. I actually found myself liking him and hoping he’s ok…! Bleeding faff lad . Have a brew before yee go round the twist

"Guacamole on cracked wheatbread? I just want an effing sandwich".
And it's all Villas-Boas's fault.
This guy is a star.

Comedy Legend. You wait and see :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I’ve watched it 20 times. And I still don’t understand how he did it. Which is weird, because it was right in front of me

Having missed the Eighties team and first watched Oxford from 1995, I think Henry may well be a starter in my all-time OUFC XI.

Absolute class.

I think we need to know if Paul Beasley has a massive hole in his greenhouse.
Not sure about that… but I do know he frequents the Bizta Willage coffee shops, drinks only ‘real coffee’ and is partial to the occasional lobster and avocado salad.

If you've managed to get a starting 12 past the authorities then I think you'll be my all-time Oxford manager.

I would think a near certain starter in a best eleven since 1995. He wouldn't, though, get near the starting eleven if the 80's teams were included. That shows you the gulf in class between the best of the 80's and the rest.

I am not sure that is true.
In the 80's the players were virtually all British.
If you took all of the non British players out of the Premiership and Championship, Henry would in all likelihood be a top Championship player.
The quality of all Divisions has improved massively since the 80's.
The 80's Oxford team was fantastic but if you ever look back at some of the games the football is surprisingly poor (except for players like Aldridge , Houghton who was International class)
