Having read all the arguments in favour on other threads, I’m still unconvinced that the panel will have much tangible beneficial effect. And, in spite of people’s protestations to the contrary, it might possibly impact negatively on OxVox. So I’ll say no.

If the volunteers are willing, and good luck to them, then channel that energy into what is already there and well known.
To "invite OxVox" to join something nonexistant, undemocratic and untested doesn`t sit well with me.
Seems a bit like how praying mantis` behave post copulation.

I've cast 'Yes' but if there was a third option of 'There's no harm in giving it a go' I'd probably have gone for that. I'm not sure we need it, and it's not something I would be vocal in supporting the creation of, but no problem if the idea is given a chance.

My initial reaction is that there doesn't seem to be anything being covered that couldn't be handled by OxVox really, and it's just another group confusing things.

Having said that, if the club want to try something different, then why not? The fact we have a prominent forum member in @Manorlounger getting involved and happy to discuss things on here is a good start, so hopefully the fears of some won't come to pass.

If that was the case, wouldn’t oxvox have made a statement to that effect instead of seemingly supporting it and having a member on the panel? Would be strange they would be helping something that could ‘possibly impact negatively’ on them.

It`s another Brexit-esque result on the horizon.

Maybe OxVox doesn`t see the potential longer-term view where the un-elected Supporters Panel gains traction, supported by the "weight" of the FSA, Club etc and swallows them whole.

Fan number? 🤷‍♀️ :)

The argument is “ we don’t know until we’ve tried “
But to me there are to many similarities to Oxvox no matter how Mitch people say they will be different.
The fans council is for the fans, Oxvox is for Oxvox and is a paid membership when in truth the information that Oxvox discuss with their members is widely known within a couple of days by the fans.
The fans council say there would be better communication channels that would exist between the club and the fans. With the amount of so many ITK’s on here surely that’s good enough.
Oxvox have communicates with the fan base over the years but in recent times the dialogue between Oxvox and FK appears to be getting somewhere then it fizzled out, that is not for the want of Oxvox trying that is because of FK.
Kelvin Thomas wanted to engage with the fans and that appeared to be going well until he was removed.
The fans council say they will talk to the club but so will Oxvox. Will the club chose to speak to both committees/groups or will they say just the one as the time restraints around meetings may not be viable to entertain both groups.
I don’t believe the club for any minute would tell the council about sensitive issues which could harm the club, so all these arguments about redaction a word that I feel did not need to be included as some may feel being on the fans council is above others and they are privy to sensitive information.

so it’s a nay from me

Thank you.

Why have an Oxvox member on the panel, both groups would have the same information irrespective what others say that they are both separate and will deal with separate issues.

The members will be elected assuming enough put themselves forward. So this is your chance...

As per usual that’s a lot of writing with no real substance lol.
So we shouldn’t have a fans group because Kelvin Thomas tried talking to the fans but he left, and because Oxvox will talk to the club too?
Why does the club need to tell the supporters group all the sensitive issues, isn’t the supporters group there to take the supporters issues to the club, not the other way around

The Club has an SLO. Its his job to listen to concerns raised and, where possible, take action. 🤷‍♀️

If we had a board that valued communication with the fan base and was open and honest regarding its plans then no
If we owned our own ground so issues never had the chance to grow regarding cleaning and maintaining the place then no

as the complete opposite applies here so it’s a yes , I have no doubt that the fan side of the panel will do their best to make it worth, I am not too sure if the club will

Why does having a supporters panel change this? I can still take my issue to the SLO, or I can take it to the supporters panel. If I received no response to an issue from the SLO as I’m sure many have in the past then the next step might be to see if the supporters group could help. If it was a more serious issue I could also got to Oxvox.

But apparently the club may say something sensitive to the council and if they possibly say sensitive things to the council then I’m dammed sure they will say a lot less sensitive things so it swings in in roundabouts the council take issues and the club tell the council. Things exactly what Oxvox do

Oxvox and the council will be dealing with different issues
