May have bought land but people seem to think it yet can build a stadium on it……there are still planning applications, consultations, appeal after appeal, these take time and I don’t mean 6-12 months.

Everyone knows that planning would be required, and yet you still insist on making this point every time. We understand - it’s fine!

That's why a lot of work has already taken place to minimise these issues. A site and plan supported by local authorities and in line with wider development objectives in much easier to push through. Appeals that once delayed projects by years can be quickly dealt with, as we have seen with the recent appeal to the High Court that was quickly thrown out. Oxfordshire Growth Board - a committee of 6 councils - are an extremely strong group. They aren't playing at this and will not just be looking at providing 4400 homes but will be looking at wider community services. A brand new, purpose built "community" stadium with retail and leisure facilities, all being funded by private investment, is a fantastic opportunity. It can be the flag ship to the other development work going on in north Oxford, and I'd be amazed if procedural delays do anything to slow this down, let alone stop it being built.

Notice you only get a response from a certain someone when they can spin an answer.

He’ll tell you he’s blocked me but he picks and chooses when to respond to me.

So maybe someone else can ask him for a direct answer.

Where does SE think the new stadium will be built. No revelations. No asking for an exclusive. Just one answer. Where will the new stadium be.

Simple really.

Put up or shut up.

Speeding up the planning issues is great in principle, but there are unprecedented backlogs in both PINS appeals and High Court schedules, which have only been exacerbated by Covid.

So whilst the process may be fast tracked compared to a few years ago, capacity to actually hear them is a big bottleneck.

I would imagine that this is confidential until it is announced.
Colin also has given broad details without being specific on where.

Does anyone know how to work the Land registry? If the accounts show land has been purchased then would it show if a search was done on the names of the shareholding companies, the shareholders individually and the OUFC Ltd company name?

I make it because some in here think it’s a god given thing and it’s already done and dusted, I may sound pessimistic but I know what has to happen for a new build whether that be houses or stadia to be built, it take a time and that could a long time.
I would be over the moon with a new ground and not to bothered where as long as the ground is done correctly ie infrastructure and the commercial side of things

Didnt we discuss this on the "Potential New Ground" thread at the start of the year? Indications were given then about where/if the new ground could possibly be.

As I recall the club wanted to build a new stadium in the North Oxford area 20 odd years ago but were denied not only by the Council but by strong objection from the public. I doubt the public mood will have altered much. This is not the forgone conclusion that some seem to think.

That’s not the north Oxford golf course though is it

I didn't say it was being built on North oxford golf course, I said it would be a perfect location. I believe the clubs board are pursuing the Stratfield Brake site though.

Think you might've lost a couple of decades there!

We've been at the Kassam for 20 and North Oxford (and Oxpens and the old BL car plant land inside the Eastern Bypass) were being talked about way before Grenoble Rd was even identified!

Apparently it’s the north Oxford golf course
