Scotchers have a word with your contact to whisper a little louder, last week he/she was telling you we were signing Tomlinson & Tucker, the week before it was Ogilvie and Kerr, previous to that it was Cadden and Bedeau! Who will it be next, Seddon and ?

Bless, you've got a little confused. There will be dozens of players that we'll be looking at, including those mentioned above. Doesn't mean that we'll sign them for a whole host of reasons!

Left back - Ogilvie hasn't been spoken of for a while, whereas Robson keeps coming up in conversations with a number of people so he would be my guess (but I don't know!). Tomlinson is a good young prospect, and is perhaps more likely one for the future and Seddon was mentioned by one poster on their first and only post, which sparks interest! Either way, I believe a deal is done with someone and will be announced early this week.

Centre back - Again, a number of names have come up and I have no doubt that Kerr would have been right at the top of our list. But I think we probably needed to do a deal early before others got involved. Similar to when we were looking at Marcus Browne, we can match the asking price but Championship clubs will double or more the wages we can offer. Of those still in our sights, Tucker and Boyle are the two most likely. I believe that conversations have taken place regarding a player exchange between Boyle and Sykes, but nothing confirmed and it's maybe more likely that we'll go for a straight deal instead. As before, I seems like a deal is hopefully for next week.

As for the others, Nicky Cadden and Nathan Holland were being spoken to in January but I've heard nothing of since. Holland is around the West Ham squad and a deal is unlikely until the Euro lot are back and ready to play. The same is with other PL loanees that we may be looking at. Harrison we have spoken with but as others showed interest, Portsmouth I believe upped the price but we were not budging. I think a deal can still happen, but it will have to be soon or we'll go elsewhere.

Other than that, nothing to add and nothing particularly concrete.

Morning Scotchers, pure guesswork then!

Shadipo moves to Sheffield Wednesday on a season long loan, interesting. Even more so when you think they haven’t been able to pay their own players for months now, surely they should be under some sort of transfer ban.

Shame that shadipo isn’t coming back he scored plenty of goals but I’m sure we will all whyte on the wing

Only been active on the forum for a short time but couldn’t miss the fact you’ve also had a wild punt or two along the way!

99% of rumours come to nothing but it’s either that or sit in silence until the club themselves give us something to talk about. Where transfer windows are concerned I’d rather hear something than nothing even if the quality is questionable. Half the fun of following a club.

The fact Karl has allowed Shodipo to go elsewhere suggests he has better irons in the fire. I fell sure Shodipo would have opted for Oxford had he been given the chance. We will see. I am hopeful.

Or Sheff were paying more of his wages, or he felt they’d be more likely to go up, or he just fancied a different experience - probably nothing we could do about it. I think he’s finished at QPR now so will be looking to his next contract.

For me Shodipo would have been an excellent acquisition on a permanent deal. Assuming that was never on the cards, I'm not too fussed not to have got him again on loan.

Despite his excellent goal return he needs to improve lots of aspects of his game. Only a permanent deal really maximises our benefit.

Still be happy to take a winger on loan, but I'd prefer a more rounded player (eg Whyte, Barker).

Sullay Kaikai is still available. Just saying.

He is on loan to Sheff W so presumably still a QPR player?

Shodipo is a player that scored lots whilst otherwise contributing little to the team, then played a more disciplined role but stopped scoring before getting it together right at the end of the season.

I'd have been happy signing him, and think he'll do well at Wednesday, but equally I'd be confident that knowing the way he plays we can easily handle him when we meet. Keeping him on the outside, and don't let him drift into a central position to attack crosses from the right and he has little left.
