My first game ever was at the Manor watching Oxford beat Aston Villa 1-0 in the third tier. I was only 13, and the crowd was around 13000, pretty good then.
Certainly been a roller coaster ride since. The ground was under a mile away too

Do you know the date?

Mine was on 12 December 1968.
9,064 crowd saw Oxford 0 Charlton 1 in Division 2.

A little game at Wembley in front of a small crowd against some small London team around the mid 80s in some cup or other.

20 April 1969 beat Sheffield United 1:0. Colin Harrington scored.
Att: 11,969

Easter Monday 23/4/62 .... home V Bath City Southern league ...lost 1-3

Still without any single game at stadium. As for live TV match, that was 11 October 2014 Cambridge - Oxford 5-1. Absolutely devastating.

Home to Swindon 21/11/1970
Crowd of 15,369, on match of the day, Sloan missed a sitter

Saturday 3rd April 1971. Oxford 2 Middlesbrough 2. Sat for the only time in the Beech Road stand. Crowd about 8,000, I think. Hooked.

27th April 83, 1-0 v Millwall Dave Fogg pen after chicken George had been fouled .
In the Osler Rd and at the end Millwall ran down to get to the London Rd . .Dad shielding me from them not that they would have bothered me tbh .
Surreal looking back !

Oxford 1-0 Barnsley, 31 January 1999. Dean Windass in the second half. Got dragged along to it by my brother (who has now lost interest) and from then on a love was born!

My first ever game was against Plymouth at the Manor in the early 90s. We were 2-1 down and come back to win 3-2. At the time we were also bottom of the league, but managed to get to safety by the end of the season.

14th November 1981, lost 2-1 at home to Brentford, Peter Foley scoring for us. Beech Road lower terrace. That is the first one I have any memory of at least, think I'd been to a few before then. Apparently I went to Pompey 1 Oxford 0 in September 1972, but as I was a month old at the time my memories are a touch sketchy 😂

1972 or so against `Boro, 4-0 win, Dad took me and that was that. Sat on the wall at the front of the Beech Road terrace.
Actually managed to watch a game from every stand at the Manor. Including a midweek 0-0 draw against Bolton from the Cuckoo Lane (left side) when it rained.... a lot.
Even broke in with some others after it closed for a Summer evening drunken kickabout and done some Urban Exploring as the kids say these days.
The police observation tower in the Cuckoo Lane had lots of junk in it including a box of Ritz Video (remember them?) sponsored matchday programmes that were still in their cellophane wrappers.
:)

Middlesbrough v Oxford United, 9 April 1994.
Got invited to the executive boxes through my dad's business partner. Turned up at his house close by in normal gear and was told you couldn't get in there wearing jeans and trainers, even as a youngster. So I had to borrow a pair of (too-big) grey slacks held up by braces and a pair of tan moccasins. I looked like Gordon f*cking Gecko on his day off!
