I think we all knew that the rejection of Project Big Picture wasn't the end of the owners of the big clubs trying to change the face of football. This says they would not end their involvement in their domestic leagues but I can't see how they can reconcile the two.

What do we think then? Exciting new horizons? The rebalancing of power? Getting rid of the troublesome 'big six'?

A European version of what exists on a bigger scale, for the chances of an Oxford progressing read Sevilla, Valencia, Deportivo etc

So what happens to the club's that join this league? They leave the EPL? Do they get relegated from the new League? If so, where too?

From reading the article, I think they stay in the EPL, and this replaces the Champions League. Although I guess it's a closed shop so nobody else can get in...

30 games though?!

Kiss goodbye to the FA Cup etc

So if nobody else can get in to there little clang of supposedly big boys then what would be the point of say an Everton or Leicester winning the league or finishing in the top 4 surely they can’t just stick them in the Europa league I honestly hope the supposedly big 6 buggered off to play in there fantasy league and then the premier league might become interesting

And it flops so they have to rejoin in the Manchester Sunday league!

The most depressing thing about this is that the English fan base has zero power over these decisions anymore. We've created monsters with our Sky subscriptions and shirt purchases. And now the horse has bolted. The game will be unrecognisable by 2040.

It looks like FIFA is doing this alone and cutting out UEFA
So are the teams who moan they have to many games now going to play in the EPL plus this new fantasy league aswel as UCL also what the domestic cups imo if they turn there backs on the UCL plus the domestic cups they should have all the trophies they won removed from history maybe they might rethink it then but I suppose the ££££ signs will mean more

OOY you little minnows this is how "English" football will be revamped on "our terms" oh by the way did we mention we're all off on a Jolly Boys Money picnic around Europe.

Have a nice day

It's all playing out how Liverpool and Manchester United wanted, offer what they did knowing it would get rejected, now they can say "this is the consequence".

I'm really shocked by this! Whoever would have thought of such an idea? Or where it leads??

And so it begins

European Super League: Uefa furious at 11 major clubs signing up to breakaway plans

So it looks like if they go it alone they will not be able to play in domestic league.
I bet the owners couldn't care less.
