Ex Player Alex Rodriguez Gorrin

Is that true though? Eight teams in L1 have played either the same amount of league games as us or fewer - so have the same or more games to play as us. Five other teams have played just one more game than us. And compared to some other teams we do not have that many long term injured among our senior players.
It's pretty much the same for all clubs - limited number of senior pros and a crowded schedule. We haven't really managed to bring through any of our own youngsters this season to feature consistently - I'd have moved a couple of them from the U21s bubble into the First team bubble, presuming they are not total duffers (and if they are, why are they there?).
I guess the only difference is that we have played a fair number of games in the tinpot trophy, but we didn't trouble either the FA Cup or League Cup for long!
If all other variables are the same for all clubs, there are three possibilities...

The players aren't good enough
The manager isn't good enough
The training isn't good enough

Yes i meant the situation compared to other years is unique in how we manage the situation not that we are necessarily different to other teams. I would suggest we have managed this better than most teams over the last two months, given our fantastic form. It seems lots of teams are up and down a bit with results/performances and I am confident we will come good, unless we get a terrible amount/significant of injuries.

Ah yes - in comparison to other years, you are certainly right.

We have been as streaky as cheap bacon under KR - I suspect we will struggle for another three or four games and then things will improve dramatically.

I am not overly concerned by this blip (maybe because we are so far from the relegation zone! ) and feel we still have a good chance of making the playoffs. Last night Pompey who i think are one of the best teams in the league when they play well beat us 1-0 from a well taken goal. Despite being better than us we restricted them to hardly anything in front of goal and we in the end had the better chances. We will come good.

Parillion- Chambers?
Chambers-Parillon!

Assuming nothing changes, and the NLS are not going to play again this season, then it's an option.

But it's a bit of pressure on the kid, who's barely played professional football, to expect him to come in and rally us into the playoffs!

If we ever slip away from the playoff places, though, it would be great to get the likes of LCP and GOD some first team game time towards the end of the season.

As much as I like the guy, I think the reason we're so streaky under Robbo, is that when something isn't working, he refuses to accept that he's got it wrong, and takes far too long to finally make the changes that have been glaringly obvious, until it's too late, and we've dropped a huge amount of points over a large chunk of the season.

Then, once he's finally accepted and made the right changes, and finds something that works, he sticks to it, until it inevitably goes stale, due to loss of form, or injuries, but once again, refuses to accept that it needs changing, until another chunk of games goes by, and we drop a load of important points, and then he finally accepts what needs changing, and changes it, and the pattern repeats itself again, and again, and again!

If he could just be quicker out the blocks to see when it's more than just a bad game or two, and that things simply aren't working anymore, and make effective changes to nip it in the bud, then we wouldn't have so many huge periods of being in and out of form.

Certain players suit certain partnerships, systems, tactics and formations more than others, and he has a variety of players at his disposal, so once Mcguane got injured, and we clearly lost our mojo in midfield, and Taylor started struggling, and it was obvious he needed more support, he should've taken action.

If he'd have addressed this current slump in form, and nipped it in the bud several games ago, I believe we'd be breathing down the necks of the teams in the automatic places by now.

It's by no means a crisis right now, but I fear we're at the start of another cycle, where the pattern is staring to repeat itself again.

Out for the rest of the season.
sad news.... he'll be a huge miss .... hope he recovers and suffers no lasting effects

Tough break for the guy.

I think he's got one more year on his contract at Forest? Assume he'll go out on loan again, or be available for a fee.

I certainly wouldn't say no to another loan deal for 2021-22. I think a permanent move would be a big risk though given that he'll be an injury question mark and likely looking for a big wage that we would struggle to fit under the League One salary cap.

[assuming, of course, that we are still in League One]

The salary cap in it's present form has been scrapped.

He started very slow and appears not to be that interested, bloody hell weren’t we wrong. Hopefully we may get him next season

Hope there’s a deal to bring him back next season
if, ( big if that is) ,we make the playoffs and manage to get into the Championship , Id think itd be unlikely Forest would loan him to a rival in the same league?.... but, it is a funny old game, so who knows.... And, I agree, @oxajh , Id like to see a fully fit Marcus McGuane in an Oxford shirt again too
