Much much improved, albeit against a really poor Wigan team. Thought Gorrin in particular was outstanding. Hopefully starts a decent run of form

That was OK today.....comfortably the better team throughout, albeit against a side that looks to be 'doing a Bolton' and is destined for League Two. Passing and shooting just isn't as crisp as it was last season, but we're still capable of playing some good stuff. The second goal was an excellent move.

Fixture list has not been easy so far this season, but worth noting that:
Against the Top 8, we're P5 W0 D0 L5
Against the Middle 8, we're P3 W1 D0 L2
Against the Bottom 8, we're P3 W3 D0 L0

Looks like the record of a thoroughly mid table side to me.........beat the bad teams, lose to the good teams, a toss up vs. the mediocre teams
(unfortunately it's another one of the good teams, and the league's top scorers at that, on Tuesday)

Quite a pleasing performance against a very poor team.

Playing defenders in defence makes a big difference, clearly Mr R has no clue what midfield to play and still ponderous but we should get a bit of confidence from that.

Clare looked good when he came on, at least he has some pace, give him a run in the midfield.

A point against Pompey would be a beautiful thing.

And Jamie Jones (their keeper) pulled off a couple of very decent saves, plus wigan cleared an Atkinson header off the line too

We deserved to win and did. That 3 pts was very important and credit is due.

We make some very strange decisions, and that tells me our problem is mental. Ability wise we are decent, mentally still a bit dodgy.

We must STOP giving the ball away unnecessarily and giving away idiotic fouls.

We must START being brave and driving thru the lines when opportunity presents itself. Keep getting in positions to score. I thought we should have scored 3 or 4 today minimum.

We must CONTINUE to be competitive and when we don't have control of the game ensure we are engaged, commited and hard to break down...

Has to be said, we look more dangerous from set pieces this season than we have done in years.

Combination of good delivery from Kelly today (and Forde in recent weeks) and a back four that are all big and aggressive in the box.

We had to win that, they were poor. Much needed 3 points. Gorrin showing us why his type of player is so important. Obita looked decent and helped Ruffels have a better game. Good that Taylor and Henry got the goals.
