General Losing Interest.

I've been watching Oxford since the age of 5 (47 years) and I'm sorry to say that the play off defeat, recent poor form and not being able to go to games has combined to seriously dent my interest in it all.
So you thought being near the relegation zone in the conference was alright with Patterson in charge. Dear oh dear!

Hmmm. Certain people only reading the bits they want to here.

Why do some people have to be catty when somebody is just expressing their true feelings?

We are all in the same boat as fans of Oxford United. As I'm used to not being able to get to a live match very often iFollow is manna from Heaven for me. Perfect? No. But better than nothing. The team is going through a bit of a rebuild now that is not giving us all the good results we had last season. It's going to take longer to complete the rebuild than we all hoped. Just 1 week to get the desired other players in, and then hard work for KR.

So let's keep calm and respect that other people do not have the same feelings, or strengths, as others.
Keyboard warriors, remember that not everybody is as you are.

Personally I feel that the OP has enormous courage to express his feelings in public!

A thought-provoking opening post and some interesting comment. If we had played 4 and won 4 maybe some different reactions. A lot of people are very vulnerable for a lot of different reasons at this point in time. Personally no football at all over the next few months would have a negative effect on how I feel. Although streaming is not my preferred option of watching football for me, it is better than nothing

Maybe not 'alright' but what followed pulled the fans and club together in a way that you could only dream about at the moment. Away days in the Conference were actually great fun looking back on it.
I think I'd rather be watching football on iplayer in League One than going to Stafford and St Albans again in the National League.

Definitely not for me , you sound a bit prawn sandwich to me

Interesting topic. Can't say I'm losing interest. When OUFC play I still always want them to win, and I still find it difficult to accept we've ever played badly.

My level of physical support has definitely declined though. From averaging 20 to 30 games a season for decades, since moving to Lincolnshire my attendance has been limited to 6 or 7 northern away days. In my opinion, it's not been 'fun' going to the deteriorating Kassam for a few years now so moving has provided an excuse not to bother, and not being able to go to matches during virus restrictions hasn't proved a great burden for me.

Our home match with St Albans was great, last minute thunderbolt winner from Matt Day, whereas I haven’t got round to watching any of the streamed games. So I disagree.

Excellent piece RB. One of the few positives is that the Pl have realised that the fans are essential to the whole experience. I did read a few months ago that the PL have a war chest of 1.5 billion. If thats true how come this 250 million the efl needs is so hard to come by. That would mean the pl clubs wouldnt even need to spend the relatively small amount a bailout would cost them each(12 million)
Because they’re greedy gits

Why is when someone's replies on a forum with a differing opinion they are described as "catty" or a "keyboard warrior"?
I`ve seen us play teams as diverse as "The Big Six" and endured the likes of St Albans et al.
It is part of supporting a small club.

When all the current problems are in the past having my team to support is the Number One goal.
So I bought a ST knowing full well I wouldn`t get to any home games because its my Club.
I don`t like ifollow, sometimes I`ll watch other times I`ll find something better to do.

I haven`t, and never will, "lose interest" in my club as long as it exists.

Anyone who thinks shopping on a Saturday afternoon is a better option is welcome to toddle off.........its their choice.

Not really the point is it? It’s a comparison between being able to watch us in person (which would be in league one) or on iFollow (which is also in league one).

I certainly enjoyed my life more when I could move about freely and a million people hadn’t died of a virus though, not certain I would trade quality of life for being in the league one relegation zone.

Not what was said was it.

For you MC Yellow!

I’m not bored at all of watching OUFC, it’s my passion, and win lose or draw. I watch again and again! I’m not bothered how long someone has supported the club. We are all fans, and pay for our season tickets. Travel up and down the country to watch the lads.

We lost in the playoff final. Our biggest chance to get to the 2nd tier in years, and yes we BLEW it. Why Didn’t Henry shoot, and what was that Moore and Eastwood moment about. Yes it hurt for a couple of days! But it doesn’t make me fed up with watching OUFC on ifollow, or listening on the radio. We’ve started slowly yes.. but we are notoriously slow starters. I’m not going to let things out there in the world stop me from enjoying myself.

Less of the bed wetting from people, and more supporting that’s what I say.
