Away Match Day Thread 10/10/2020 L1 Gillingham v OUFC

Gills have won two, drawn one and lost one in the league so far. However, that loss came at home (to Hull), and they drew last time out against a Shrewsbury side that has yet to win in the league. They attracted a lot of attention over the summer with their signings, but they don't seem to be doing that well yet. I'd take a draw, if just to get some more points on the board, especially if Atkinson isn't risked, but I think we could definitely get 3 points here. I hope Gorrin and Ruffels aren't rushed back too soon - while their presence would definitely help tomorrow, we needto think longer term if they're not quite ready yet.

2-1 Oxford - Taylor and Clare

Be interesting to see how we set up at the back if Atkinson isn’t fit with Mousinho still out.

Will it be Elechi or will Ruffels be thrown straight back in there?

ideal side for this one would be
Eastwood (although I would prefer Stevens)
Clare Moore Atkinson Long (shouldn’t rush JR in)
Gorrin (cover there so could throw straight in)
Brannagan Forde
Henry Taylor Agyei

1-0 Oxford although I’d take a draw

guessing this 1pm kick off is Steve Evans trying to maximise the recovery time ahead of the busy schedule.

I really hope Agyei is still involved I would be disappointed if KR has sidelined him.

If Atkinson is out, then Long shall have to play there ahead of Jones. If the medics say Ruffels has recovered, then he’s straight back in - one of the fittest we have, plus was only a shoulder injury from memory.

I’m going with;
Eastwood

Clare
Long
Moore
Ruffels

Brannagan
Gorrin
Forde

Henry
Taylor
Sykes

Stevens
Jones
Kelly
McGuane
Winnall
Osei Yaw
Agyei

Who have I missed..?

I don’t understand all this “take a draw” moderation of expectations. Last season we finished third, were storming towards the automatics and dominated a play off final.

We lost one to two decent players. And added plenty more. We should be striving to win this league and that means going in to every game expecting and hoping for a win.

0-2 Oxford.

Interesting that Gillingham play crowd sounds through speaker at ground.

Sorry but i have to be realistic 3-1 to Gillingham, anything but a loss today then i will be convinced were back in business.

Is Cooper available? Also is the 1pm kick off time just for Gillingham so Evans can get his two hours of time wasting in before we take to the pitch at 3pm?
