Transfer News Transfer window 2020/21

Not necessarily thought of more highly than him, just that this unnamed PL loan is quicker/pacier, and that’s what we’re looking for...
As I’ve said before MM is possibly the best league one player I’ve seen at the Kassam, we do need pace but given a choice I’d certainly have him over someone like Holland

Don’t get me wrong I also think MM is quality at our level, but would that be enough? It’s a tricky 1. If only we knew who the No.1 target is. But that won’t happen until it happens. Ok let’s get greedy and have both.

I think if Maddison is available we'd be mad not to try and sign him. He has consistently been one of the best players in League 1 for a number of seasons.

Sign Maddison as a proven league 1 player AND sign a Premier League under 21 player with pace and potential on the cheap.

Absolutely agree. If its true that he has been training with us, it would be stupid to let him slip away and sign for another promotion rival. We have the money to get him. As many have suggested, he would be within our wage budget. Its an absolute no brainer for me. Someone like Holland in on loan would provide that pace we need on the left hand. I really hope we pull this one off.

Is MM left-sided? He’s certainly left-footed, but much of the footage I’ve seen on-line shows him playing on the right.

Totally agree. Would choose maddison every time. He would walk into any league one team.

In that case you wonder why no one has taken him yet?

Don't get me wrong, MM is a player I'd love to see here, but we hold all the cards at the moment and we need to trust in the recruitment team to pick the right player.

Before we do this all to death, is COD a realistic option anyway? He hasn't featured in a Bristol City squad all season so is he injured or frozen out? Either way he is no where near match fit which appears to be the criticism many are making of our recent transfer dealing! I know he was pushing for a move away from City previously and apparently had a bit of a sulk when this didn't happen. Will he be happy dropping down a league or are there wider attitude problems?

I appreciate that Marcus Maddison top trumps every one of these concerns, but the difference is that he may be hungry to prove a point. If COD had the same hunger then of course he's someone we should consider, but I'm not sure that'll be the case.
He’s not a realistic option ffs. I’m surprised people are suggesting it. He’s on £8k a week so rumour has it so why would they let him come back to us, unless we paid most of it which I am sure we couldn’t afford anyway.

Ummm, not sure I said otherwise!

Surely as an out of contract player MM can still sign for a club outside of the transfer window.
He can, but it's not like there are dozens of teams queuing up for him. Most teams are likely to complete their squads in terms of both numbers and wage restrictions so if no one takes a chance on him in the next couple of weeks then it could be January at the earliest. He'll then be 12 months without a game and an even bigger gamble for clubs wanting an immediate impact.

The Maddison one is madness. I mean on the face of it any team in this league would be wanting him on the pitch. A few in the league above also.

But theyre not. Its so, so strange.

Im going to predict he ends up one of two places.

1. Lincoln
2. Gillingham.

I'll make my own predictions on where he ends up.

1. Oxford
2. Job Centre
