I liked the look of Forde right from his arrival here, despite injuries. He has a decent pedigree, he's a good age and plenty of league experience and played representative football at several levels. He needs a bit of stability and a good run in the team in my opinion. If he can stay fit and we use him to his strengths, he is a real asset.
AS great a player as Kelly is (his passing, positional sense and dead ball ability is extremely good IMHO), I think he struggles without space in front of him. Lincoln consistently played 10 behind the ball and packed the pitch in front of him. He couldn't pick an early pass and we had nobody really running in behind to stretch them and create some space. As a consequence he looked ponderous and passes were less than incisive for the large part (be interesting to see if
@Shosho data bits bore out what I thought I saw!). It was a Gorrin type game, rather than a Kelly type one, but KR didn't have that option, so maybe roll the dice and try Forde in there with Kelly coming on, when the gaps do appear?
