If I've got it right they have four games in hand and are nine points behind Northampton. Still a big ask.
Only lost 14 games, same as us! Cup runs put them behind quit a bit tbfIf I've got it right they have four games in hand and are nine points behind Northampton. Still a big ask.
Rochdale have the best GD at the bottom and could easily get out of it imo
If you look at the equivalent point in previous seasons, you will see that this year the 21st placed team has a couple more points than is usual.I'll feel happy at 53 points can see 51 being too few

So it is reasonable to expect - at this point - that the final points total required to make 20th place will be a couple of points higher as well. That would mean about 52 points.
So, yes, 53 points is our target, and we probably do not want to be heading to Ewood Park on the last day needing a positive result to get there.
That means 11 points from our next eleven games.
Sounds fine, but lose at AFCW and we then have 4 games in a row against top 10 sides. If we then got 4 points or fewer from those then we would be deep in the mire, needing 7 or more points from our following five games.
Of course, if one or more of the other 5 or 6 clubs in our mini league blow up and go on a big losing spree then we could be ok with far less. But it seems a bit crap to rely on that happening.
So, to my mind, tomorrow is crucial. Win that, and we probably move to 10/1 to go down. Lose it and we will be chalked down to 6/1 or so, which is not really very comfortable. An away draw might seem ok, but at some point we are going to have to win a couple of games....

Now three points fewer behind. They are one of the form teams in the league, and it looks as if the Spurs home draw has given a young side a lot of confidence.
I am afraid that I never bought into the breezy optimism that because sides below us have got a point a game this season, they would all just dutifully continue to do so. When teams - and I use the word team advisedly - are battling, and are under real pressure, they very often up their game, in desperation.
The trends are that this is going to be a high points tally to go down season. For the next few weeks, we play top 10 sides, and those at the bottom play each other (have a look at the fixture list). They cannot all lose ti each other!!
Crucially, we are psychologically unprepared for where we are. Only ten days ago, players were still talking about making the play-offs. Our new owner, bless him, was still talking that way on Friday!! Heavens knows the stories he was told by Darryl, as they went on their open-top bus tour around the university.
Hopefully, though, this is the result that wakes the entire gaff up, once and for all. From bullshitting former owners, to delusional current owner, to managerial candidates, to players who came here having been sold a pup, to Alice in Wonderland fans trying to detach themselves from the weird and not very wonderful ass-licking personality cult which revealed itself in that ghastly exit press release. Reality checks all round, a quick check on surroundings and a few swift moves. As follows: appoint a crisis manager, with a bonus for keeping us up; narrow the squad down to 20 odd fit guys and send everyone else off on holidays. Do not need disaffected players hanging around when we need to battle. Nor can we afford to nurse long-term injuries back in. Make a public request for support, apologise to the supporters for the shambles that this season is and declare a new 10 game mini season with a points target of 12 to reach safety before Blackburn away.
I backed us to be relegated at 20/1 in December, and am looking forward hopefully to the moment when the steps laid out above happen and I can lay the bet off and take my profits.

At least we now know that he wants us to be relegated. Some supporter.U bet on ur own team to be relegated in December ?? Wow
I’ve backed us to go down at 25-1.
It’s an emotional hedge.
The possibility of it - and the pain - scares me so that if it happens I will at the very, very least have some spending money to momentarily take the edge off the misery
I don’t want it to happen. I co side my stake the sum I would pay for us to stay up.
